Number of players per server

Is there an updated/current list of the number of players, characters, or active characters per server? The last one I saw was from the free transfer time period. TIA!

No, just a Low, Normal, High guage. E.g. when you create a character it gives you a vague indication of how many people are on it.

well. I guess one could always look for how many people are online in a specific zone or whatever other measurements and at least get a rough estimate by that, but that may take a while. lol

Out of curiosity, how do you get this number?

well, you can search for players and then go from there. you get different options. you can search by language, class and other things. so if you REALLY want to look for a somewhat accurate number, you can find it out. it will just take forever :P

That's not particularly useful though, as search will only display a maximum of 200 people in the list - set it to search for all langauges, races, levels, classes/Jobs and Companies and you can bet it will hit the 200 limit without even getting through the 'A's on most times. So you can bet that there is will often be at least 200 people on your server at any one time.

You can search with Lodestone if you filter by class/job. However if you include "no Grand Company" then you're going to end up with the droves of under-20 people (mules, neglected alts, RMT shoutbots) fogging up your results. So filter by GC. In some cases you'll also have to do another filter, but for me class+GC was enough.

Did this a few months ago, already forgot what number I ended up with. I want to say ~18k on Hyperion.

Considering the amount of people in instances (which are in another world, so not found by /search) the total goes to a bit above 2000 at that specific time (not peak time for EU).

I expect there are some very small errors due to:
a. The searches and counting taking like 10 minutes, so some players may have changed job/class
b. Some players are in instances (mostly at level 50, I would assume) so the figures for level 50 are even higher in reality, if they don't appear in searches

What it shows at the very first sight:
1. The game is very heavy at level 50, with over 50% of the players being level 50, not even counting those that have a class at 50 and were not on it at the time of search. Keep in mind Ragnarok is a legacy server.
2. BRD is the most popular job by far
3. Second most popular job is BLM
4. Points 3 and 4 show a preference of ranged DD. Just the BRD number is more than the sum of DRG and MNK.
5. Extremely few crafters using the class at 50, given that ALL the crafting classes in total were just 100 guys.

6. There are still too many DD, healers are close to ok, tanks way too few
Tanks: 128 (18.74%) ideal value: 25%
Healers: 148 (22.67%) ideal value: 25%
DD: 407 (59.59%) ideal value: 50%

7. PLD is still clearly preferred to WAR
