Chuki (JOL): About the Limit Break system, the thing is that players are a bit disappointed with it, some players are selfish and just press the button whenever it’s available and they’d rather have some individual Limit Break AND a group Limit Break they can use in very important situations, that would make things fairer for everyone.
Naoki Yoshida: Actually I have no intention to introduce individual Limit Break because that’s no different from another Weapon Skill apart from flashier effects;I don’t think there’s a problem for people to press the Limit Break button up to Lv50. We specially designed it so you can just go ahead and press it, it doesn’t have to be necessary to use Limit Breaks. However, in the more difficult battles you will have to consider when to use them, which one to use, which level, which action, that’s going to come up when we introduce the endgame content. From Lv50 onwards, we’ll have to make sure you use them at the right time, but before Lv50 just try your own Limit Break and see what kind of effect it has.
I read Yoshida's response as: I am to lazy to make a system. I will do a half ass job and the players will accept it. It won't make sense, but it is Final Fantasy so suck it.
You are answering the wrong question. They are not actually asking for an individual limit break, they are asking for a different animation for when each class hits there 1 LB button. Which I 100% agree with.(05.07.2013) Interview with Naoki Yoshida at the Japan Expo, Paris

Having multiple classes using the same animation is more than ridiculous, it just doesn't make sense. They were too rushed to get out the door that they didn't have time to worry about it.
It is something they can easily do, actually, since they just need to keep the same damage, just change the actual animation so that each class looks like it fits... instead of monks using swords, for example. A simple animation change when a monk hits the LB is something that should and needs to be done. Monks don't use swords![]()
They should. They could. But they won't. Because reasons.
It would make the jobs feel more unique. Hell, they don't even have to change the damage on them or attack radius/healing radius...just the animations. A DRG using Final Heaven looks silly to me. A MNK using 'Omnislash' animation looks dumb. And a SMN using meteor without any sort of egi/primal tied to it is more than a bit ridiculous. It's a quality of life issue than actually game-breaking, but hopefully eventually they'll find the time.
They could always bring back 1.0 Pugilist's Simian Thrash (possibly spice it up a bit) and use that for LB. Hell, most of the work is already done. You are answering the wrong question. As a BLM I hate how SMNs get meteor. Can't they get like a fat chocobo that's identical in power as meteor?
It would be nice if the tank LB was actually useful to the point that using it is recommended for a fight. Maybe with one of the Extreme Primals. I can only hope.![]()
They need to make tank LB more useful, I've never seen it used for anything serious to help win a fight.
