Enough complaining already

Anyone that says the game is good because they can log in once or twice a week to play it, the point is you wouldn't pay to do that. Since this game was never created as a charity for poor MMO players they need to get their act together and start charging asap.

youre acting like only 20 people play the game, that handful of overly dramatic ranters that open shitloads of unconstructive bitching threads ("zomg i will so leave and you wont get the money im not paying right now to play the game anymore, it will surely mark this games demise that I am leaving") wont be missed at all no matter how small the population might get.

Well the game itself isn't free. I paid $70 for my copy. Yeah the monthly fee is free, but I don't really feel I've gotten my $70 worth of a memorable gaming experience. I purchased a broken product. I'm definitely one of the optimistic people here and I'm definitely very patient. But I think people have room to complain, with a certain level of maturity. Complaining and whining are not the same things

Constructive Criticism is good. It is almost completely absent from these forums however.



Pointless and repeated complaining/whining, that offer no insight, explanation, or suggestion, are bad. And these forums are being consumed by them.


I'm trying hard not to be entirely negative towards the whiners, but if you don't research the game before buying; why then are you surprised the game is different from your expectations? I say this as most of the people who complain either didn't play the beta/alpha and didn't bother to look into the game itself. Otherwise, I don't see how someone could possibly complain about wasting money etc unless they are just impatient about the update schedule.

SE is partly to blame for overhyping their release, but I don't think that then releases gamers from their own responsibility to research before buying and certainly would not justify the unceasing moaning.

While the game is currently free, the point is to get it to a state where it actually warrants a game subscription. In this regard, player feedback is quite literally gold to SquareEnix right about now.

I think the problem being referred to isn't the feedback. I think the 'last straw post' was feedback though, and started a generally constructive conversation. That said there were some rage posts mixed in. I've sort of divided up the rage complaints I've seen in the forums into three groups at this point.

1) Players who have genuinely tried the game, and have earned the right to comment on what they don't like even if I don't agree with them. Sometimes those posters end up griping about the same things post after post and only really need to say it once, but SE needs the negative feedback along with the positive. Players who like the game shouldn't take this personally.

2) People who hate SE and the FF franchise and want this game to cause Final Fantasy along with the entire company to go down in an inferno. As far as I am concerned if you hate SE/FF that much, and you are burning away the precious hours of your life posting it in the SE forums, you are deranged. Its a video game company, move on....

3) The people who work for game X and post 'this game sucks come play game X.' Even if you aren't on the payroll you have taken it upon yourself to advertize for their company and that makes your opinion about this game a bit suspect. Plus it wouldn't surprise me if some of those posts are being made by people who are on the payroll of SE's competitors, and are shilling some too weak WoW clone that isn't intended to see more than one development cycle before it goes free to play. If they have to advertize their product using someone else's resources then that should tell you all you need to know about that product. It should also tell you they are afraid of what this game will do to their profit margins.

Anyways these forums are for feedback and suggestions, but sometimes I feel people abuse the "suggestion" part, and even the feedback is abused at times. People need to be more mature when they suggest or give feedback straight up, this isn't the eorzeapedia forum, this is SE's official forum for FFXIV and some people should show a little more respect.

I also agree with this, FFXIV "Official forums" are for ideas, Constructive criticism ( Positive and Negative) not Complain and Wine all the time that constantly repeats itself.. they get it , Give them breathing room sheesh
