Way, way down the line.
The simple problem with your idea, Areeya, is that right now, right now, FFXIV needs an extremely solid foundation on which to lay the framework for esoteric things like this. It may have appeal, but to what portion of the player base?
The majority of MMO players become very attached to their avatar, in a sense it becomes an idealized projection of themselves. I don't think there would be a high demand for this sort of thing in the beginning, because it in essence takes that away. I will use druids in wow as my example - until they were made completely, mind-numbingly overpowered, they were the least played class in the game. And so many complained about the shifting aspect of the class's visual aspect, in the most recent expansion one of the trees's shifting style abilities were removed so that it spent the majority of time in the player's base form.
I think that we need to see a solid representation of the fundamental classes, and then a branching of other classes that have large fanbases from the franchise that have never seen an implementation in the MMO side, such as geomancer, chemist, etc first. I think there's a market for this style of play, I just see it as a 3rd or 4th expansion pack, not an "oh my god, we need to get this game fixed yesterday" class concept.
