I like the idea a lot. I'd like to throw in my idea too.

A limit break mode. Something different for each style of combat. Either mage class or fighter class. This is how I think it should work. You can hit Limit break after taking a certain amount of damage, or doing a certain amount of damage or killing a certain amount of enemies. After breaking your limit you have access to super abilities, spells or attacks exclusive only in limit break mode.

    I think this is a great idea^^

I like the idea of morpher/transformer job. Reading through posts, I had some ideas on some topics:

    Elemental transformation
I can see this to fit with Elementalist job, if it ever comes, as 2hr ability(or whatever similar they're going to introduce). I don't currently have any clear visions about it, but feel free to add to it.

    Beastmaster
I'm hanging between wanting it to be a job or a class, but definitely we need one. Maybe I'll choose to favor job route as all classes must have funny names in FFXIV :P. Also I don't think there needs to be a link between BST and Morpher unless job > adv.job is implemented.

    Morpher
I would see this to be fit to be an alternative to BST branching from same class. I must confess, I'm utterly confused about specifics for this kind of job. Like skills outside being morphed, how to gain morphs and morphing durations to name a few.

Just some points to feed the conversation. And of course everything is depatable.

I agree. Either way it ends up we def need Pet jobs in FFXIV. They are a necessity :3

I like the rest of your points about Morpher and Transformation. Elemental Transformation would be very awesome: I think if we see more people liking this idea we will have a better chance of having a great job/class of this type!

The Elementalist would transform into humanoid form of the Primals (Ifrit, Shiva, etc.)?
    THAT WOULD BE SO COOL!!!!

Let's stay positive and on-topic so we can see this implemented into the game guys and gals :3

A REHASH up to this point:

    We are discussing:
    - Pet Classes/Jobs
    - Classes/Jobs that have a main mechanic that allows the player to fight via transforming into a Humanoid Elemental OR Beast form.
    - We have sourced: FF Tactics Advanced > Morpher, FF Tactics Advanced > Hunter, and FFXI > Beastmaster

    MAIN IDEAS POSTED SO FAR:
    - The use of the Job Morpher as a advancement of Beastmaster
    OR
    - The use of the Job Morpher as a advancement of Summoner

    SOME OTHERS HAVE SUGGESTED:
    - Morphing could be a 2 hour type ability for Summoner

I understand what you're saying I've thought about it, and just personally I still like the idea of us summoning the gods more so than us turning into a beast form sort of attuned with the elemental gods. I think it would be cool if instead of turning into gods or versions of them we turn into some sort of elevated buff with visible differentiation while in our advanced jobs. If you're a paladin and damage is being done to you at a frequent rate it fills this gauge and then you receive a visible aura and red or white lines which appear like veins through out your body, and a beserker esque tank mode ensues. So in short I like your base idea of ascendance and transformation, I'm not just not completely behind the idea of us turning into the gods, which to be fair you left it open what we could turn into by saying "what the devs decide on" so i'm not really flaming on it or anything.

Thanks for the positive feedback Zaviermhigo!

Do you think people would be more accepting of Morpher as a Job?
    - Your main means of fighting would be like Lienn stated: Using a mob's soul You can either morph into half human/beast and retain a small amount of both you and the mobs skill set (evenly mixed) OR you could transform FULLY into that mob and use its entire skill-set but none of your own skills.

I personally find the previous example/setup very appealing. It would bring a strangely new and exciting game mechanic for parties.

Since very little of the world's Lore is solid at this point: It could also be weaved into the Lore through the quest required to unlock the Job.

I believe it would fit well into the Game because you would be utilizing mobs that already exist in the game against other mobs. It really seems like a advanced form of Beastmaster, which is why I suggested it be a job you unlock after playing the Beastmaster Class to 50. By the time you are 50 you will have perfected your skills as a Beastmaster and can use that knowledge as a Morpher to better understand mobs weaknesses and strengths so you know what to fight as!

    Very exciting stuff :3

Completely not Final fantasy, and so not a forte of the developers who have to ultimately flesh things out.

Also probably something the engine isn't meant for...

    So no...

While living under the sea is just as fantastic as colonizing the moon, you don't ask nasa to consider the former in favor of the latter.

No thank you. Sounds over the top and silly if you ask me. We're no longer a group of ragtag adventurers struggling to take down a fiend but instead a bunch of colorful demi-gods running around pew-pewing and blowing shit up. I'll pass, FF6's Terra was enough for me.
