I dont think that everyone should be able to do this. However I have always thought that perhaps it could become a class like summoner, and instead of summoning the creature next to you. You would summon the creature inside yourself. That way you dont have people left right and center turning into different things

"FFXI ALSO had elements that were unique to the FF series. IT made the game more enjoyable and attracted OTHER players than JUST the diehard FF fans."

And this one does as well. Which is why I play it. Not everyone here is a diehard FF fan, especially myself. It just doesn't fit in with FF no matter how you try and put a spin on it. It's a system that I'm sure would be really nice, and work great, again just not on this one.

(Sweet someone other than the same 3 people/lynch mob posted! Good to see someone has some ideas other than shooting it down without a single care.)

Ahh. Very good point. Yes maybe the system would work for a Class type. Therefore the jobs underneath that class could utilize the same mechanics.

(A bit off topic, but: I secretly hope that Classes have multi jobs underneath them. Like the FF Tactics system.)

Well, FF serie has a class named Morphist. They use the soul of monsters as weapon that allow them to temp transform into that monster to use their skills. Your idea is just a few adjustments/tweaks away from this class.

A good idea would be having an hybrid and full transformation system (No one deals with transformations better than breath of fire! So i guess it will be my reference =P).

As hybrid you can have your base skills and some of the monster's skills. As look you have an humanid version of that monster. As full transformation you fully transform in that monster, having no access to your skills anymore but having full access to the monster's skill. For balancing purposes, i'd add continuous MP cost while transformed (no MP = transform back).

IMO it would be a very interesting job..even in FFXIV...since you would need a certain sould to be able to transform into a certain monster and, since you cannot change weapon during fight, you will be restricted to only one monster type per fight, keeping things fair.

You wanted a debate, but you're blindly ignoring the opposition. Still.

Very good point. I like that ALOT! See that's what I am talking about! Finally someone understands!

All you nay-sayers. Look at this!
FF Tactics Advance HAD this Job!
    http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Morpher

That is some cool stuff! I like your ideas on how the class would play out.

MAYBE: The CLASS would be Beastmaster. Morpher would be a Job since it is sort of a specialist form of Beastmaster.

Who was it that said this class WOULD NOT fit into a Final Fantasy Game? Looks like it already did.

Square Enix: ALOT of players loved Beastmaster from FFXI! It was a complex and intricate Job. Please think about implementing Beastmaster as a Class and Morpher as a Job earned by ranking up Beastmaster.

I thought Areeya's idea was great and illustrated one of the less often used classes in the FF series. You have no idea what you're talking about clearly which is fine because you stated that you weren't a die hard FF fan. But quite frankly don't make a comment like "It'll never work in FF" or "The concept doesn't fit into an FF game" without doing your homework.

Your so called "opposition" is based on misinformation. The fact that Areeya is "not listening" to your misinformed counterpoint I would think is actually to his credit because he's not allowing your nonsense to detract from his valid suggestion. If you had just said "I don't like the idea because I personally dislike that class concept and wouldn't find it enjoyable" that might have been something. We're all entitled to not find something enjoyable. But your reasoning is bereft of any foundation in reality. It's not a lie but it does spawn from ignorance of the scope of jobs that have come and gone in the FF series. I'm not sure which is worse because they produce the same end result, an argument underpinned by misconceptions.

    Indeed. Sorry i said the class name wrong...it does is Morpher, not Morphist...my english failed me again ; ;

FF has a few jobs that intercat specifically with monsters and this concept can be used perfectly in this game. Have shepherd, an already made DoL class as base and then make it unlock the beastmaster, which tame wild monsters, the morpher, which transform into wild monsters, and the hunter, which is specialized in dealing damage to classless monsters.

Its an already old concept since beastmaster and hunter are pretty old, just like the idea behind shepherd as DoL class since in many FFs you had a way to capture monsters. Morpher is a less used concept, being much more rare than other classes...but we have one of the FF stars as this class: Vincent Valentine!

No worries about the name xD

I love the concept about Beastmaster > Morpher. Not sure I am in agreeance with it being a DoL though. Only because that seems to be a transition from a Non-Battle mechanic into a Battle mechanic.

I can't speak for SE, that's just my thoughts. Either way I really like the ideas you've stated.

I am pretty excited thinking about a time when SE will implement gameplay like this! It will be a very nice change in pace :3
