what did u imagine what ff14 would be when u bought the game?

I thought it would be the most kickass game ever....i was expecting a varitey of races like the ones in 12 (Viera,Hume,Moogles,Bangaa), epic landscapes, monsters the size of sky scrappers! Chocobo farms! Linkshell gathering houses! festive event clothes, more events in general! just more or alot of things like everyone else said. I had a different vison for ff14...If only i had directed the project or if only square enix was being more creative :P

Id imagine a new game with a new story that is fun and interesting. For me I got what I was looking for the story only just began. And I can't wait for all these changes to get done so they can progress the story. I look forward to fighting ifrit. I got a score to settle from ff11 >

I was in CB and OB.

I thought there would be, when i installed the CE:
- A zone in between The Shroud and Thanalan.
- Ishgard.
- Chocobos.
- Airships.
- Two small towns, Sharlayan and Ala Mhigo.
- The roegadyn volcano zone.
- Moghouse.
- Delivery Box.
- Mail System.
- Shepard, Archanist and Musketeer Classes.

Its a Land class. I imagine them being able to lure mobs near them and gather from them. I know its a bit weird to tare a lump of flesh or hide from a Nanny and just walk away but chopping down logs from a tree without it falling is a little weird also. ^^

Not gonna lie. I expected XI, but with updated graphics and more casual-friendly.

Every once and awhile I'd see something about FFXI and get all nostalgic, think about picking it up again but realize how ridiculous it would be as I'm no longer in middle school.

Along comes news of XIV. I see the same races. Get that nostalgia again. Read some marketing material. Seems like they're innovating, getting rid of all the annoyances of XI. Couldn't be more excited.

But then CB, OB, release... and yeah.

Well I certainly imagined that it would be finished, or at the very least there'd be a big patch to essentially do just that when the standard edition copies went live.

As far as I'm concerned, that game is in game development hell... Or at least Limbo.
