I'm pretty sure SE has learned their lesson from FFXI. The relic +1 weapon will be used to obtain a weapon that's higher than ilvl 95 in the future which will probably be so difficult that you HAVE to have the Allagan weapon.Yah it does seem a little silly though maybe they have a plan that they simply haven't talked about yet for the rest of the Turn 5 gear. We'll have to see. BiS is also relative btw. An armor slot where the myth tome gear and allagan gear simply swap say accuracy for skill speed would have the accuracy piece usually considered BiS but the right gear combination on say DRG can blow you past the Turn 5 accuracy cap making it arguably better to use the skill speed piece.
I understand needing the weapon for progression, but again, that doesn't explain why they don't move other drops to earlier turns or raise those items as well since the difficulty to obtain them is the same as the difficulty to obtain the weapon.

Because there is no need to raise them since there is nothing harder than Coil Turn 5, even in 2.1. 2.1 is basically a catch-up patch that is filler content that fills in the gap between Titan HM and Coil. The only reason why they are upgrading the Allagan weapon is to make it so people will want to continue to do Turn 5, especially for those jobs where the Best in Slot are all AF+1 gears.

Ya...plus they stated that in the future we will be upgrading relics into 'Legendary' weapons eventually.
Yoshi didn't play XI and it's pretty apparent with some features missing from ARR's base version
Actually, Moogle should be i80 considering the fight is much more difficult/complex (in a sense) than say Garuda. They came before in 1.0 but their weapons were actually better than a few Garuda weapons depending on your present setup. In ARR they also were better than Garuda's for many, so raising to i80 makes perfect sense, though I speak as a legacy player, I don't think Cerberus is a legacy world so you likely haven't gotten ARR experience with the weapon vs current primals (with I believe Titan's being better depending on your focus.)
