    Insanity Ensues...

So, I was leveling an alt character, and i want to thank the almost 50 tank, and the Scholar for Quing for Haukke Manor so i could get my pug through it. Here is where the rant starts...

First, I want to say that it has become apparent how ridiculous the requirements are becoming in this game. I understand, cause as having several 50s on Jacian, i know the importance of gear for HM primals, Coil, and even AK (WP is a breeze, but that is just my opinion). But before i finally got a que, i PuG'd a WHM, only to then be told how dare i que for a level 28 Instance at....wait for it....28 *gasps in horror* then told i need to go and do every side quest out there until all i had was Haukke and was atleast 35 before even attempting it.. WTFsauce....really? Anyway, I get the que, and am all excited because Haukke is one of my favorite Dungeons (TY SE for making an HM version for 2.1! more hours to enjoy the instance) and its one Dungeon i love to clear fully, cause its the start of the Instances that begin to test your ability and i like to have the Mapping the Realm Achievement when i walk into the last boss. Now as grateful as i was that the SCH qued a lower instance, everything went down hill as soon as they said they want to speed through it...It got me thinking, with the Duty Roulette, and the offer of Tomes for rewards for 50s using it, Has SE ultimately killed the enjoyment of the lower level instances by promoting 50s from trying to figure out exactly how to sr them? Am I wrong

Apparently people are tying to figure that out, and i can only assume it is for when Duty Roulette goes live next tuesday

How I see the new abilities:
Asylum - Get ready for my holy spam because that's the only healing you gonna get.
Aero III - I guess I should put some dots up before holy spamming.
Assize - I need more MP to spam holy even more, also stop getting hit in the face.
Tetragrammaton - I guess I should heal that tank now.
Stone III - There's less than 3 mobs left alive. - Ragns Meuhie

As far as I know, you don't get the duty roulette rewards unless you complete the dungeon.

To attempt a SR in this case seems a bit... counter productive. I'd imagine it would look something similar to a tank driving straight into a trench, filled with mines.

Queues for Haukke Manor are fast and a lot of 50s are doing it... not sure why.

that's actually the only concern I have with the duty roulette, but I guess we'll see. I personally just laugh about the speed runners, though. I've even met them in SASTASHA before. I basically went .nope. on them. and I was the healer. I just don't queue for dungeons alone anymore. I make sure that I always queue either with a tank or a healer. I really hope that SE will rethink their 'what is abuse' policy and let us report people that demand speed runs and skipping cutscenes.

**edit** what i mean is that the SCH skipped half the half the room, no achievement, i know trash is trash, and when your 50, you can care less about that piece of gear, but to someone leveling every piece of gear helps...

Its all dependent on what instance becomes the most efficient for a SR.

As it stands, (I believe) WP is the most optimal for SR, followed by AK. This will NOT change unless SE makes a dungeon that gives just as many tomes and takes less time.

People who care about SR only care about gear and the time it takes to earn said gear. I can almost guarantee that WP will remain at the top, unless of course another dungeon replaces it.

SR is for THE most efficient dungeon you can find, given the new options we will have, its unsure whether or not another place will replace WP, if it does, it's highly likely WP will be abandoned SR wise and only the new dungeon that can be done in the shortest time while still earning WP equivalent in tomes will be used for SR.

And as always, if you use the DF in hopes of getting a SR, you are a fool, pre make the group and stop expecting randoms to cater to your wishes, just throwing that out there.

IIRC you only need the first room, then key to the second boss room, all other keys that are absolutely required to progress further will come naturally. The basement seems to have been designed specifically to allow people to skip it, so we can be sure that it will create a problem with people running the Roulette.

Stuff that level 50's will want to skip in Duty Roulette:
    1. Sastasha: 1 coffer by a clam, 3 coffers by the storage area
    2. Tam Tara: 2 side rooms not on the main path
    3. Copperbell: 1 coffer on a standalone platform, then the 2nd last coffer before last boss
    4. Halatali: people will try to skip the chains and end up having to turn back and activate them all
    5. Totorak: all side rooms will be skipped, this is already common practice here because the coffers just suck
    6. Haukke: room before 1st boss, the whole basement, and room away from last boss which has a high probability to drop a nice accessory
    7. Brayflox: all goblins and side routes (run straight for 2nd boss and use boss lock-out, basically skip the whole area), green ring coffer before last boss
    8. Sunken Temple: skip all hidden rooms
    9. Cutters Cry: half the coffers before 2nd boss because of layout; all coffers before last boss because they're all out of the way
    10. Stone Vigil: all coffers (which contain mostly junk)
    11. Darkhold: side room before 1st boss, then all coffers before 2nd boss
    12. Aurum Vale: all coffers except the pet because they all require clearing extra trash
In general the leveling players will lose out on significant amounts of coin, and in Sastasha, Haukke, Brayflox and Cutter's Cry, basically all the accessories coffers are skipped. Haukke is the main (if not only) source of level 29 aetherial accessories, Cutter's Cry is the main source of level 39 accessories. Brayflox aetherial gear is crucial for quickly updating old gear because the dungeons before and after all drop very few pieces.

And I haven't touched on how people will try to sneak around trash packs and verbally abuse newbies who aggro "unneeded trash".

It's those who can't do the speed runs that try to make Roulette runs faster in any way then can, that will ruin the leveling dungeon grinds for everyone else. The Roulette puts two types of people together:
    1. I want to have a shot at all loot and get as much experience as I can out of each dungeon
    2. I want to take the shortest route and kill the least number of trash
These are completely opposite goals and will cause a conflict.

I really hope that those people know that in 2.1, Haukke Manor HM will have a different path then a normal Haukke Manor. so even if they figure it out the Speed run right now, it will be for nothing when HM have the different path all togather ...

Maybe I'm weird then I normally que up with my lower level friends and we DF the rest of the party. But then I ask at the start of the run if people want all the chests or don't care. I don't care cause odds are I'm tanking on my warrior or am DD'ing as my dragoon and both classes are 50. Though I can see why people want to rush .. least I know a few who are 50 and dislike speed runs. (myself included).

People need to learn to relax and if you are 50 and get put into a lower dungeon then take a few steps back and remember how it was like when you were first in there. I tend to ask if the groups im in want me to explain fights even =/ Taking the few moments to talk to the group can save something silly happening mid run. I'm sick of que'ing in DF as my dragoon for the 50 content as it is due to people forcing speed runs and more or less its keep up or die.
