Show vs. Tell

As a native of Detroit, Michigan, I find myself these days comparing FFXIV with our football team, the Lions. Every year, the Detroit Lions tell us that this will be the year. This is the year that the Lions are reborn, but all we get is the same awful team maybe wearing different style uniforms.

Every time we hear from the devs, we are told "soon". "We're gonna do this and this and that, and oh boy it'll be great if you just stick around! Any day now!" And every patch gives us the same boring game with maybe a different targeting tweak.

I've stopped paying attention to the Lions. I don't watch their games, and I won't pay attention to them until they actually start winning games.

I haven't logged on to FFXIV since a few days after patch 1.17a. I don't think I'll log on again until I actually see the changes they're promising.

I'm tired of being told what's going to happen. I've been listening to them tell us all their plans for months. It's time for results. At this point, I can not believe anything anyone from SE says until I see it with my own eyes.

Here's my suggestion. SE has a YouTube channel for FFXIV. Use it. Don't tell us what you're going to do. Show us what you're doing. Let us see for ourselves what you're working on. This way, not only will you be able to update us more frequently (a lot faster to click "record" and upload to YouTube than it is to write a 5 paragraph essay and translate it to three other languages), but you avoid many of the problems brought about by textual updates (speculation, mistranslation).

There is no reason to withhold information, SE. You have nothing to lose.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but on their page, that video they have there for display...it has a really small clip of someone with an axe jumping into the air and down upon what appears to be Titan.

Very short, like 2:25 - 2:30 but I watched it a few times and I think I identified it correctly.
