What's even better than this is if you're fishing, instead of spamming trade, they'll just train some mobs over to AoE you (which is also a bannable offense, from what I understand).

Had no idea this was an issue. Sounds pretty terrible and I don't blame you at all for getting so upset. The only times where I could see someone assuming it is a bot is if someone was teleporting around nodes which I have seen a lot of times in this game. But since you aren't doing anything sketchy like that and just farming, the least someone could do is send a tell first. That is what would be my first action if someone were to be killing something I need or gathering for that matter.

I haven't worked on my fishing yet, but my sister has told me she's found some people who are relentless at this even if you're consistently telling them to stop.

After I get mad and tell them to quit it, I'm clearly not botting, they say, "I need to kill those for a quest and you're hogging them all." Okay... so your first thought is to, instead of asking nicely if you can kill a few for a quest, lock me out of all other game functions? Really?
You don't need claim to get credit for quest monster kills. They follow the same principle as Fates. If someone does something like 30-50% of the damage, they get credit so you shouldn't have to change anything you are doing to appease the uninformed.

If she's 50 and ranged and they're say 35 and melee, they're not getting credit.

It's called Monster Player Killing (MPK), and I'm pretty darn sure that's bannable.

I've been mass-killing low level monsters to spiritbond too, but can't say I've ever had this happen to me. Hardly anyone ever comes by the spots I farm monsters at. Your point is valid, but I also suggest that you go farm monsters where you know there aren't quest/Hunting Log targets.

I'm pretty sure you can block the spam by blisting them.

Generally people won't suspect you're a bot unless you are standing at the same spot, only killing mobs that spawn in front of you while completely ignoring the same mobs behind you.

There are a lot of bots where the players check in every 15-30 minutes. These bots will have their chocobos out, pretending they're not botting. But you can easily test if they respond. Even if they suddenly become responsive and start running around 5 minutes later, you can still tell they were botting beforehand, such as they will attack anything that you claim and pull in front of them, etc.
