Had a relic +1 tank do this to me and an FC friend eariler this week. He was stood there with his Ilevel 90 gear and relic +1 calling us all noobs because he can clear WP in less than 12 minutes with his LS. The irony is despite him out geaing my friend and I by quite a bit we both had to hold back or take hate, so he was actually slowing the run down, not speeding it up.

I main tank but I can't count the number of times when I've queued as DPS that a tank that had WAY better gear than me was absolute trash in comparison. I believe two things happen or have happened with most over-geared people: 1. They get lazy and think that their uber gear will carry them. 2. They, disgustingly, got carried to that uber gear.
