I am also from Australia and I have no problem with coil, you need to do one of the following things OP.
Get a tunneling service, WTFast using the SG servers is highly recommended from other Australians.
Or transfer to a Japanese server, you will have no trouble finding Australians on Tonberry.
I recommend the later, Tonberry is a great server for the SEA community.
I'm glad to see a post like this! Been trying to find out what server is good for oceanic players since I will be on that side of the world very soon. Was nervous about the connection and lag. Hoping I can stay on Hyper, glad to see an option though. thank you~!
Move to Tonberry JP server. We went from paying for titan run in US server to selling titan run ourselves in Tonberry.
Despite a JP server the number of english players there is much, much larger than the japanese. Just look at mor dhona shouts at our peaktime - barely any JP shouts.

Also, ADS has a set rotation of abilities. Just memorize what moves he uses in what order and start moving beforehand.

It's not so bad for me, 250-300 ping, but that still does make coil way harder than it needs to be. ADS does have a rotation of his main 3 abilities, which is all that turn 1 ADS uses. Your party should also be positioned to make the healers have to move as little as possible, but that obviously doesn't help if you're the one always being targeted. Sadly, you do still have to pretty much be moving before the mark appears, but even then I occasionally get hit. If your group is good, people (even the healers) can be hit by the occasional laser and not wipe.
If it's really that bad, moving to a JP server will help (the ones already mentioned in this thread are good). There isn't much else you can do except pay for tunneling services but you may as well just spend that money on a server transfer instead.

Well, as I said before, I installed WTFast. I played on Zalera.
The difference was incredible. Whereas before I simply could not dodge ADS's lasers, now I could practically just slow walk of the way and still be fine.
The network ping times aren't any different, but the in-game server ping times are much better (like 300-500ms vs 1500-3000ms).
At the end of the day, I suspect that my ISP (Telstra) is doing some form of traffic shaping/throttling on the game's traffic ports.
I just connected to one of the local Australian WTFast proxies.
Edit: I should add, we got past ADS just fine then. Got stuck on Caduceus though, but we're a bunch of first-timers. Almost had him down three times, just needed more practise and less tired people (most were playing at 2-3am their time).

WTFast + Tonberry JP = Enjoy FFXIV

i suggest you try Wtfast or battleping, i used both in this game and they help so much if you have route problem
