Coil unplayable for me

I play from Australia. My network ping time to the servers is a steady 320-350ms, which is about as fast as it gets from this distance. I was with a team on the first boss (ADS). I see the lasers mark, I move as fast as is humanly possible. I am outside of the area, I've cast an instant spell (regen), and am starting to cast the next spell and I get hit anyway, WITHOUT FAIL.

The only way I could avoid it was to always be moving and if the lasers showed up, just keep moving. Thing is, any time I stop moving to heal anyone, the laser invariably is on me, and even if I cancel, move instantly, cast regen (instant cast to update server position), I STILL get hit some 2-3s AFTER leaving the red area.

This is just unplayable crap.

Way to go. Make a game with end-game content, that is unplayable for those in the player base not living within 5000 miles of the servers.

It isn't just Coil. Cutters cry turns you in to a liability as well.

Any dungeon or battle that requires full on kiting is fail for White Mage.

Have you tried using a VPN service (WTFast/Battleping etc)? Might help as it helped a few members in my coil static.

Friend in my free company lives in new zealand, plays on the NA servers, and has no problem playing coil (has made it to turn 4 with meh gear). Also had no trouble dodging when I helped her with titan (occasionally got hit but no more than anyone else in the party)

That aside, you realize there are english communites on the JP servers, which should give you much better ping. I believe Tonberry was one of the "unofficial" Aussie servers. You might consider transferring. There might be issues with your ISP treating the game's traffic as P2P traffic and VPN tools might help you as well. I don't get where you got this idea that casting instant cast abilities makes the server update your position faster, because it doesn't.

I have two suggestions. The first is to use a tunnelling service such as pingzapper, Wtfast or battleping.

If you don't mind transferring servers you could try a Japanese server such as tonberry. As long as you aren't on the Optus network you should see significant improvement playing on a jp server.

Tonberry has a large oceanic population and more english than Japanese speaking players. I suggest you ping the jp servers first, if you decide to transfer.

This not a solve of a problem , but solid team can take 2 bodies t 1 - 4 , and 1 body to t5 , so join FC that doing runs and ask if they can take u to runs . Also there exist stuff like WTFast it will great help u.

Australia here, and I've constantly made it to turn 5 now. I've learnt to move ahead in advance a lot, and its helped out. Just keep trying.

I am also from Australia and I have no problem with coil, you need to do one of the following things OP.

Get a tunneling service, WTFast using the SG servers is highly recommended from other Australians.

Or transfer to a Japanese server, you will have no trouble finding Australians on Tonberry.

I recommend the later, Tonberry is a great server for the SEA community.

Well I don't know if this will make you feel better but eventually they're going to make Coil easier.. :x So yeah it might be possible in the future. T.T:
