I like this idea. Would give a more FF feel.

I think just about every FF game has had an "active" town. The npcs just randomly walking around, getting in your way or whatever.

So would make it more of a FF game to have life in the cities other then PC's. There are tons of shops in the cities that npcs could wander to and back, maybe stop in the guilds?

But i think this would be a nice thing to have this be worthy of the number~

Yep! And the reason it was a slap in the face was because 1) you had your national pride and 2) they jacked some stuff from you that you couldn't use until you gained the lead again. I also remember if you had that region overtaken you could set your HP at an OP for way cheaper.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.

when you go in a CS from ship to ship there loads of NPC or any CS for that matter the city is full of left once you enter the game. It's like where the hell did everyone go? they need to had more life to the game with more npcs walking and talking like how FFXI did.

I don't think that would happen in FFXIV due to storyline the 3 city don't hate each other there all together. Now if SE change the storyline to give it more of a war feel they could make it so each city are in war but then again all the 3 leaders are in a team together which would mess that up again

but i wish they had that in ffxiv it be fun like hell.

I agree so much with all the above, there should be NPC's and larger re-vamped cities. I remember in San d'Oria when you could enter almost every door and explore the castle, the knights room (or whatever it was), go upstairs to people's houses and even go down to the jail where you can fight bats and things such as that. In all the cities in FFXIV there are barely any doors that can open and all bland. It would seriously inject a lot of life if the cities were larger more NPC's and random quests/stories

Well the cities in FFXI never actually hated each other, but they were their own independent country. Also, each city had it's own set of races that primarily lived there.

    Windurst - Mithra and Taru
    Sandy - Elvaan
    Bastok - Hume and Galka

I get that the devs were trying to create a sense of unity in it all, but in video games it's actually more fun to have a bit of competition between the nations. Especially when there's 3 powerhouses like Sandy, Bastok, and Windy. I doubt at this point they'll rework it to be like that, but that's how FFXI worked.

Now, I think with the introduction of the Grand Companies they could REALLY pull some new stuff here. It's adding a completely new layer of lore on top of the game. They could implement a system where the 3 Grand Companies are competing to be the best and be marked down in history as those who saved Eorzea, so you gain CP (Company Points) whenever you kill a monster that gives XP or even more points if you kill a Garlean Soldier. And then from there you could receive rewards for your war efforts.

I feel your concerns op, traveling all the way Gridania to not cross a single player on the Tranquil paths and even LL many a times i find myself alone on the boat. When arriving at said city-states i hardly see anyone outside of crafters in the usual crafting attires.

When we had more players, everything was alive. From afk bazaars to traveling players. Hopefully when the game has finished its development players will come back to make everything bustling and alive again.

Again, I think we don't see as many players around because of the lack of immersion, which having more NPCs in the game could help with. They should add them in cities, along routes between cities. They should have emissaries and their body guards from other Grand Companies along the roads. THAT would be cool to see.

Ya i play ffxi for 6years each city hate each other but still work with each other and that why they made up the PVP thing for each zone. Maybe SE can do something like that for FFXIV later and maybe work it in the storyline.

I played for 6 years as well o,o I mean sure they kinda hated each other but they were never at WAR with each other. Yeah they had Ballista to best each other and keep the zone in their control..which is kinda like gang territories lol but even if they did hate each other, that's fine because it gave reason for competition between the nations, and that's something this game needs as well.
