Yes please :X This is a huge part of other Final Fantasies.
I was just playing FFXII today and walking around in the shops of Rabanastre...it reminded me of Ul'dah except it didn't feel like the plague hit it and all the color got stolen :X

Peach Parfait/Khulan Angura on Gilgamesh

Yeah Ul'Dah reminds me a lot of Rabanastre, just kinda half-done. If I could get an MMO version of that city I'd be way more interested in it lol

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.

Shameless bump. I'd like some sort of reply on whether or not this is planned at all in the future. Or at least have it forwarded to Yoshida.

Uldah is definitely really bland
heres an honest question to those who might know.
i personally have found every Final Fantasy series to have a very well designed and decorated aesthetic, however, both FFXI and FFXIV have some of the worst looking weapons, gear, environments, and even summons (minus XIV obviously) look absolutely colorless and just..... less than every other FF in the series.
so Q: WHY?
is it just because these particular developers have that type of look in mind and think its literally on par with the look of all their other games? i just never understood it thats why i became the second most advanced .dat modder FFXI ever saw, who else do you know that can modify the hex. of the dat files to make your own spell casting animations?
15 abilities each? what is this... Kindergarten?A jack of all trades WHM... what is this 1989?

I enjoyed the summons in XI, I think they were pretty good looking. However, with XI's gear, for a long time I was rather underwhelmed by the style. You could buy a level 10 Great Sword and have a level 70 sword with the exact same style and color. And unfortunately this happened more than once. I'm starting to like the new gear they've been releasing in FFXIV with the release of the NMs, so with that I'm curious as to what the dungeon gear is going to be like.

I also like the summons in FFXI, they were on par with the previous titles summons, unlike those ugly weird transformer summons they gave in FFXIII.

This is one of the biggest fail in FFXIV for sure... as always its Square-Enix showing off something so great with opening movies, and cut-scenes and in actual game it's nothing like the movies.
I'm sure they were planning to add all this in but just like what they said about all the implementations they wanted to make from users feed back from Alpha, CB, OP they had bugs they had to fix which took too much damn time and it was already on release date so they had to release it. Releasing the game then was the BIGGEST mistake SE made, I dunno why recent gaming companies (specially Japan) all rely on release date and sticking to it, rather than fixing the game. If they think adding patches, updates later on will fix the problem... look what happened with this game LOL almost 1 year after release and still a crap + lost more players than they could of gained from a amazing system/game/mmo. On top of that FF13 didn't help either LOL nice looking game but as a game FF13 failed majorly (my own opinion) two FF series bad in a row is bad move for SE (should also add Front Mission Evolved was FAIL also). Probably reason why they are pushing back on FF13 Versus, finally using some brain after fans got pissed off + stock market dropped on SE.

I wouldn't mind every once in a while, every second Sunday of a month, an unused section of Ul'dah main thoroughfare blocked off for a big traveling carnival, something akin to what we saw in Ul'dah's opening movie. Lots of NPCs can run around, silly little games can be played, and maybe a few interesting items can eventually be finagle out of the event.

This is just as important as redesigning the maps, because with the heavy emphasis on crafting most of us spend just as much time in the cities as out of them.

I really like this idea, and maybe even add some other random events throughout the month, though not as large scale obviously. Something as simple as randomized quests with reward points that could be used for city specific cosmetic gear (that take longer than one week to get).

The reason they probably stuck to the release date is because of the fact that they bumped back FFXIII so many times and it angered people. But this time they flopped the release and just angered even more people. I can't stress how much this game needs more life. Like a phoenix, let's hope that new life in the world comes from the impending destruction upon the world.
