Hmm I'm not sure if you want to just stick to one cross bar only but I use two. The first one I have all of my main combos and my off CDs that do damage and I place all my buffs on the second one. You can hit R1 once to swap to second crossbar use the move your after then hold R1 and hit triangle to instantly swap back to the first crossbar to continue your rotation. And yes I use the rotation on a rotation reborn minus fracture/mercy stroke. The only thing you will have to learn is the timing of the off gcds on the second crossbar. I time them using my lifesurge buff on the main crossbar.

Yeah man, it's all personal preference, but you'll notice that you will be able use only one CrossBar for the entire main rotation, including Off-GCD abilities, with my config.

Yea I agree its all personal preference but I like to leave a few spots open on my main crossbar for things like RoT next to my heavy thrust and DFD/DS for those pesky WP speed runs. Just makes it a little easier on me. But if you don't need aoe often then there'd be no need to keep those skills up front.

There is an option (on PS3 at least) to make hotbars only show up if your weapon is drawn or sheathed. You can make your battle hotbars for weapon drawn and your utility hotbars for when your weapon is sheathed. When your weapon is drawn, toggling between hotbars via R1 clicks will never go to your utility hotbar, but you can still access it with your weapon drawn if you absolutely NEED to by holding R1 and pressing the corresponding button that you have your utility hotbar mapped to. It's very useful for pad players and not hard to set up.

Huh! Neat! I'll have to look that up. Thanks

Alexander: Aahh, I forgot about the auto-jump functionality to switch straight back to the first crossbar with R1+Triangle. That should eleviate my concerns. Thanks for pointing that out!

Jet: Oh okay, gotcha. I see what you meant now. I appreciate the help!

Oh I've been having this conversation with an LS mate, he's a pure controller player as am I, and has been looking to optimize his setup as well. This is what I came up with:

    The jump macro is simply
    /micon "Jump"
    /ac "Power Surge" <me>
    /ac "Jump" <t>
so you hit it during one GCD to buff then the next to actually jump. If Surge isn't up you'll just jump during the first press.
Buff Macro someone else listed earlier and mine is basically the same:
    /ac "Blood for Blood" <me>
    /ac "Life Surge" <me>
    /ac "Internal Release" <me>

Hit it for BfB then right before Full Thrust to get LS or IR, either way increasing your crit chances.
I have vertical bars with all my off the main bar CDs so I can see what is up and when.

That's really nice. Do macros only do one ability at a time? The only thing I'd suggest is putting Internal Release before Life Surge.

They do if there are no /wait between them. The ani-lock moment causes the rest to flow through w/o triggering.
I prefer Life Surge first so that I don't waste 2.4 seconds of the Internal Release time. That way I can pop it on the next time through and have it up for the next Full Thrust.

After hitting level 50, and going back to PUG and MAR to get my cross-class abilities, I tried out Jet Brook's layout with a few adjustments.

I made macro buttons for hitting Internal Release before Fracture, Blood for Blood before Phlebotomize, Power Surge before Chaos Thrust (to transfer the buff over to the Jump after Chaos Thrust), and Life Surge before Full Thrust. These buffs always appear before these abilities every time they appear in Avyar's dragoon rotation.

The macros are pretty simple and look like this
    /macroicon "attack"
    /ac "buff" <me>
    /ac "attack <t>

Where attack and buff are the names of the abilities, of course. This way, to get the full rotation off, all I have to do is jam the attack buttons for the buffing macros until the buff goes off and the GCD refreshes. I also make sure Leg Sweep is in the top button for the HT>DOT area, since while the Leg Sweep comes at different points in the rotation, it is always around the HT/Fr/Ph combo.

One problem I'm having with the layout though is getting into position for Impulse Drive, since I need to maneuver with the left joystick then switch to hitting the directional pads. I should be able to get it with practice though!
