What they SHOULD do (as an economist) is give people the option to put their own gil (OT TOMES!!!) in as a reward to the in-demand class. You are a BLM, you need Praetorium, you put up 40k of gil, the tank sees in dungeon roulette there is a potential reward of 100k for doing a dungeon (your 40k plus 60k more from the other 5-6 people willing to pay for the run), and the tank goes, "Oh nice, let's rock this!". That would provide incentive for the tank to queue, for the tank to do well to finish the dungeon (he only gets a % based on how far the group gets), and it would avoid inflation because gil wouldn't be being pumped in, just exchanged.
Of course there would be the issue of cross-server gil exchanges and legacy players willing to spend 600k on something a normal player would only want to spend 10k on, but randomization and supply/demand equalizing should eventually smooth out.

Maybe other roles gets some gil too

I love it when I get bonuses for what I want to do anyway.![]()

Loving the idea that tanks should be paid for tanking, honestly just get over yourselves. I was an endgame tank for years in FF11 and I never once even thought I deserved paying for it despite the fact that the vast majority of the time I was tanking to get other people drops. It was just my role so I played it.
Tanks getting 50-100k just for tanking? lmfao

I don't want to do the same stuff that I've already done 12 times this week so that you can get it done as well. I'm a good guy but I don't play this game charitably to strangers. Now, we need to solve that problem: how do you get someone to do something they don't want to do? You give them stuff.
Its not that tanks think they SHOULD be paid (in-game currency, mind you) to play their part. If there are 2 tanks in the whole game, 4 healers, and 30 DPS, that means that the tanks would need to do 75 runs per week to get each DPS their 10. Why would they do an extra 65 runs that have extreme diminishing returns for them and NOT develop an attitude that they are more valuable? Its very, very, very basic supply and demand.
I was proven wrong when I said it wasn't hard. I played with a terrible tank in Sastasha today. He kept complaining that I was a bad healer & drawing too much aggro. I was never up front or attacking. He was just really bad at drawing the aggro, which is pretty much the only thing you actually need a tank to do. It's pretty hard for me to heal a team when I have to run around for my life at the same time.
It's a pretty simple formula. Tank draws as much aggro as possible, healer heals tank, DPS do the damage unhindered.

Tanks on an ego trip?
News at 11.

Ok, let me see if I get this right, you think you deserve 50kx4 times per day? You think you deserve 200k gil per day just because you are a tank? You think you deserve 1.4kk per week just for playing through faceroll content with "lesser classes".
Honestly though. 750 gil is not much at all when you are 50.. But giving to big reward sure would damage the economy and your egos would grew even bigger than they are now.
