I would have to agree that the bonus would be to cover repair costs. Tanking is not the most difficult role to play. It doesn't deserve more than everyone else.

Problem isn't being hard or not... it's the problem of not having enough tanks for the amount of DPS/Healers... it's an incentive for having more people playing tank roles OR having the existent tanks to use DF more often.
to clarify: the reward is not specifically for rolling a tank, but for rolling the role that is currently in highest demand. though that usually is the tank, this can always switch (less likely to be a dps :P)
iirc it's also depending on how highly in demand it is for the specific run. (like for example let's say Stone Vigil has a tank/healer/DPS ratio of 1:5:20 and Brayflox has a ratio of 1:1:10 then the tank is more 'in demand' for stone vigil and would get more there. that's how I understood it, anyway, but the healer would have a better ratio in Brayflox)
that being said I doubt it will truely make more people actually roll a tank (aka consider that their 'main' and use it for harder content)
it will just mean people will queue for tanks for the runs with the worst ratio (if it's depending on ratio) and play their 'main' class for endgame.
in the end people will only play tanks and healer if it's fun, and comparing the tank/healer/dps ratio in this game with most MMOs I've played in the past, it's a lot worse with tanks. people simply don't want to play tanks. not sure if that is 100% related to the tanking itself, though, since quite a few people love to yell and call the tanks names as soon as they do a teeny tiny mistake in sastasha![]()

The reward is displayed before queueing up, and roulette doesn't let you choose your dungeon. Brayflox and SV are both in the same roulette group, Low Level. It might work the way you're saying on a per-group basis (e.g., Low Level needs tanks more than High Level, so Low Level gets a better reward for tanks), but I haven't seen anything going into those details. Have you got a source for this?iirc it's also depending on how highly in demand it is for the specific run. no. iirc = if I remember correctly. aka 'I am probably wrong on this'The reward is displayed before queueing up, and roulette doesn't let you choose your dungeon. que? the point of this is that more people queue as tank, in other words: you have a shorter line to wait in. less waiting = more tomes for you, too!

Tanking is so boring![]()
Those are Philo tomes. You can tell by the image. Tomes of Philo have 1 blue glowing stripe. Mytho have 2 glowing stripes.
Think of Tomes as Allagan USB drives. And the more important ones light up in gradually more lines up to 4. (They practically are external HDD or USB drives if you pay attention to the lore...)

The screenshot shows myth tomes. 6:59 into the video, you can see a representation of philo and myth. The screenshot shows a blue(actually two, but mashed due to resolution) line that covers almost half the tome. The video shows a shot of the philo tome with a sliver of blue. Those are Philo tomes. You should have bought an authenticator.....
Your tears feed me....
