1. I think the cards would be a good idea, almost making it a collectible card game inside FFXIV. Have the monster cards be from the mobs in FFXIV, but have the face cards be characters from other final fantasy games.

2. Chocobo raising, racing, and betting on the races would be interesting as well and keeps in line with the Final Fantasy Franchise.

3. A battle arena where you face waives of mobs that increase in number and power. Have it for single player or 4 person groups. Give prizes for completion. Maybe even lock out certain skills per class to make the difficulty harder. Like in FFVII

4.Fishing Tournaments. Enough said.

5. Monster breeding or Arena. Capture different monsters and cross breed to make new monsters to fight. Kind of like in FFX. Or go Dragon Quest root and form a monster arena where your monster team fights and you can bet on outcome.
