Why is the Friend list function one sided

I don't like the idea that people can add me to their friend list without me knowing and can possibly stalk me.(haven't ran into that problem) I just think they should make it like it was in Xi I have to accept to be your friend. I know this isn't an pressing issue just want friend list to be an 2-way agreement. Your thought's?

Are you kidding? Without a player search function, adding people to my friend list is the only way I can get linkpearls to new people when they apply on our website!

That's an design flaw on both ends don't try to save something that's flawed to help another flawed system.

Allow someone to be added even if there offline but they need to say "Yes" or "No" i agree i like this idea. I was stalk by someone who i had to move server due to him seeing when am online,.

I don't think it is as flawed as it seams. It can come in handy at times.

I don't see how this would be so much of an issue. If someone is stalking you, you should talk to a GM. If they ever get around to adding a search function they could just /sea you whenever they wanted, and most likely see which zone you are in as well. It would be nice if they had an invisible status though, where people couldn't /sea you and you wouldn't show up on friends list. Though, you might argue that an invisible status could be used as more of a stalker tool. Lol.

The friend system is a realistic interpretation of real life, most friendships are one sided.

On release they had it so when you add someone the other person got a message and it also added them onto your friends list, but for some reason it got ninja changed.
