    The large amount of botting has led to serious gil inflation. As a result of this, a large amount of players have well over 20mil (some having upwards of 50 or 100+).
    Wrong. People have so much money because the game has been out for 7 months already, R40 leves give a shitload of gil, people pay an assload for shards/crystals/clusters, and there is nothing to spend the gil on if you are already R50.

    New players will feel unable to ever become elite or catch up to the huge amount of people that have multiple rank 50 jobs. This is especially detrimental to people who want to play the game as a crafter main, as it will be practically impossible to compete or profitably level up crafts when your server is full of people who have multiple crafts at rank 50 from botting.
    It's going to be that way anyways. Bots make it a little worse but if you're going to quit just because you can't be "elite," you really shouldn't play MMOs anyways since there will always be somebody much higher ranked than you since they started earlier. On top of this, gear doesn't make a huge difference as long as your rank is close to the optimal rank on the gear. So if you just buy new gear every 10 ranks you never have to have a new set...and repairsmen work for incredibly cheap as long as the repair ingredient is common (1-2k is dirt cheap).

    Botters will essentially be the players who end up with all the elite stuff, since they have spent months botting millions of gil and will continue to do so since nothing is being done about it.
    As if elite stuff is only going to be purchasable and not untradeable drops? A good amount of regular players have a million gil as well. Hell, I had half a million gil by the time I was R15 from selling shards and crystals in the market wards :/

    Botting is a problem because they drive prices down. They flood the market with gathered materials and shards, making those prices low, and then they are able to buy those materials (or just bot for them lololol) and craft stuff cheap. The problem isn't that they're making millions, it's that they're ensuring other people can't compete.

    first: my other thread was asking if people are annoyed. this thread is listing the problems it will cause
    second: if there are this many threads and SE is doing nothing about the problem and not discussing it, then doesn't it make more sense to continue to have new threads on it till SE listens? as opposed to ignoring the problem and wondering why the game fails?
    and third: why are you making such a huge issue out of multiple threads on an important topic? do you bot?

    also to the comment about botters not causing inflation.
    You must not have played FFXI when rusty cap fishing and then hyperinflation occured.... The hyperinflation was a direct result of RMT selling huge amounts of gil all at once through huge sales. Almost all that gil was derived from the 100 ppl botting in rabao every day and npcing rusty caps.
    Woodsvilles axe went from 500k to 30mil within like 3 days on kujata......
    So yes, 100% botting leads to inflation. Its already occured in ffxi and its in the process of occuring here. Maybe not hyperinflation, but guarenteed inflation.

    RMT and Botting is 2 seperate things, if you want to talk about RMT, renaming your thread "How RMT may kill this game".

    Botting may be a method RMT use, but even if they did not bot they would still be in the same situation because its a JOB for them, they sit, hours, doing the same shit because its a job, botting just makes it easier just like mule boosting or failingleves.

    Not to mention there are probably more people who bot and dont rmt.

    this isnt about RMT its about botting.
    Rmt = HYPERinflation
    botting = inflation

    With botting inflation goes up gradually
    with RMT + botting, gil is stored and released into the economy all at once which = hyperinflation

    so this thread is about -botting- and only -botting-.
    If botters sell accounts to rmt, then hyperinflation may happen. that may happen when the game gets good.

    I'd like to know where you can buy 1000 walnut logs a day. My server you're lucky to find 100. Most of the gil is coming from lev's.

    Maybe instead of a character wipe they should just do a gil wipe, alongside the banning of the players they have confirmation of third party programs being used for botting.

    Yes it hurts legitimate players, but it also helps cover people moving gil to other accounts and etc. And I for one, know I wouldn't cry over gil lost, when it's pretty easy to get back.

    I would think this would be something intended to occur before/during ps3 release and prior to a cap increase.

    The game Making it rain gil every time you so much as look at leve or complete a class quest or main scenario mission = Every body swim around in your Scrooge Mcduck sized money bin and have money ball fights.

    Now I'm not saying that there are not individuals or groups abusing the system, there obviously are. But the game its self is not exactly making it hard for them. there is far to much gil going into circulation and almost no drains. but it has been stated that were going to be seeing some changes in that department. and they cant come soon enough.
