Loot lockouts should be based on Job

In other games you are forced to make alternate characters to experience other forms of gameplay, thereby avoiding ALL lockouts for gear.

If you're willing to do a ton of stuff all over again, this is a perk you've earned. It is an option in this game just as it's an option in any other. However, unlike other games, it's not a requirement or a necessity, unless you're a flaming lootw#&$%. You simply do not have to have a pile of ilvl90 gear on the job you want to play in order to be able to play all the content currently in the game. You could, you know, spread your tomestone and coil rewards across more than one job instead of focusing on one, you know. In the time the game has been out, you should have been easily able to aquire gear for more than one job.

You also get charged extra money to make additional characters which pushes you even further towards deciding to make a single char for everything.

You are not charged extra money to make additional characters, as long as you subscribe to a longer term. But despite it being a feature of the game, you seem to be complaining about making a single character for everything.

YOU DO NOT NEED ALL ILVL90 GEAR TO PLAY ALL YOUR JOBS IN ALL THE CONTENT. Stop crying that you aren't the OMG THE BEST at every job and just play on them! Freely available, non-locked out philo, relic weapon, and crafted gear is avialable that is perfectly fine for pretty much everything in the game. Play any job, and gear up your favorites first.

As I've mentioned in countless other threads, as more content is added to the game, playing every job will get easier because there will be more sources of gear and individual dungeons having individual lockouts won't block you from upgrading other jobs because there are more dungeons/contents available.

This right here tells me that you really aren't getting my point. It's not about needing the gear, it's about providing incentive so that all of the people who are logging out Tuesday - Sunday want to actually play this game and experience something different. Basically you're argueing that it would be better to have those people logged out and doing nothing than in game, increasing the amount of people participating in content. Very few people are going to do something for nothing (like joining a pug when you're locked out) unless somebody who they are friends with needs a hand. Even if you make caps for myth based on jobs it would take the equivalent of 135 WP runs per week to cap out every job so it's not like many people will be doing that regardless.
