PvP in ff14

This game will never have open world or anything meaningful lost or gained upon kill or death. I'm not worried either way since I would never look to a ff game for PvP in the first place. Should be fun for a week or until the meaningless pvp becomes too obvious

I have nothing to base this opinion on since PvP isn't in the game yet. Having said that though, I think the PvP in this game is going to be terrible. You have things like BLM's not finishing a cast because the target moved too far to either side, or simply ran through the caster. Not only do you have issues like that but you add in the sometimes shoddy dodge detection in the game and also add latency into the mix... The combat in this game is not fluid enough to support PvP. That is just my opinion, and others are welcome to theirs. I know that I will not be participating in PvP in this game. DOTA 2 solve my PvP needs.

If you thought the amount of attention the CT lockouts got on these forums was too much, just wait for the PvP threads.

The amount of butthurt people feel from being 'unfairly' wiped by Titan is absolutely nothing compared to the rage when it's at the hand of another player. The system could be absolutely perfect and the front page will still be filled with "PVP SUCKS OMG SO UNBALANCED SO MUCH LAG NERF THE BARDS! GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE!"

Pking isnt real PvP. PK is just stress relief.

What we are getting is what most people would consider real balanced PvP. What most games would use as a PVP system.

To all the "fresh meat" people: Player names are shown on the scoreboard at the end of the match. You might even want to team up with someone who put on a good fight if they were on your server.
