People like to gleefully ignore info from the devs that could potentially make their concerns moot. These are the same people who like to call everyone a white knight. We really should start calling all the cynical people here black knights or something.
Yeah, not gonna lie, 'Fresh Meat' is scaring the crap out of me. Wth is that?

"Newbie" gladiator. You've never heard of the term?
Anyway, I hope PVP takes off, I really do, but if it doesn't make DoH any more helpful with the same excuses we've received for PvE content...I don't see myself participating that much.

I haven't really paid too much attention to the PvP aspects of this game. I have always been interested in it, and will definitely partake in PvP because I'm usually good at it, but it's not what drew me in to FFXIV. So I just wasn't bothered to really keep up with everything. So I guess forgive me if this is a noob question or if it has been answered in 3584763 other threads that I probably didn't read...
The way you state that..."newbie" gladiator, makes sense to me now more than before when I first found out our names wouldn't be included in PvP. And I also just read that there is supposed to be 30ish different ranks of PvP to level up in. Does this mean that when you 'rank up' in PvP, your moniker will change from Fresh Meat to the next echelon name? If so, that might actually be kind of cool.

That would be a good idea, but judging from the dev postings it looks like the naming conventions won't work that way.

Personally I think tanks may have a large advantage in pvp over other classes due to the fact that they (at least currently) have 2 or 3k more HP than anybody else, lots of damage mitigating abilities, some (minor) dps buffs, and minor self healing. Along with spamable stun (paladin) and silence utility. Or maybe I just don't know enough about the other classes lol.
This game has more restrict check on diminishing return than WoW, unlikely you can spam stuns on same target.Personally I think tanks may have a large advantage in pvp over other classes due to the fact that they (at least currently) have 2 or 3k more HP than anybody else, lots of damage mitigating abilities, some (minor) dps buffs, and minor self healing. Does everyone in 2013 make posts on forums just to whine? O_o
Add PvP between DotL/DotH classes pl0x!
