I have never once heard of anyone using this game exclusively as a 'sex meetup' do people perform in appropriate / sexual emotes? Absolutely. Do they pick up the game for the sole purpose of running around cybering anyone who isn't afk (and some who are?) I think not.
You don't know what it's like out there.
One minute, you're crafting some spectacles; the next, somebody is using /thrust in your face.
Its only a matter of time until you're crafting some gear for an FC mate and you look up in horror to find some random Dragoon has whipped out his Gae Bolg +1 and is brushing it against your face.

how does that refute my point? there is nothing stopping me from playing games on my 3ds while also using it to distribute porn to minors via swap note

Please explain to me the part of any emote currently in the game that is pornographic. I have yet to see a nipple or genitals in this game. Further more, this game is rated teen, it also requires internet access to play. So assuming everyone playing is at least 13 and has the internet I can safely say that minors viewing a miqote doing /angry with someone right behind her doing / cheer is the least of our problems. The game is not the issue nor is the content, the issue is the user. If seeing the previously mentioned series of emotes would offend someone, that person needs to gtfo and/or grow some thicker skin. Welcome to the internet.
And as far as the 3ds aanalogy is concerned, firstly I would like to point out that it is an apples to oranges comparison. Secondly, you are not required to use that feature of the 3ds anyway. And in all honesty if you are going to interact with a complete stranger over the internet eeven if it IS on a device who's primary market is children, you should probly realize you may receive inappropriate pictures text or what have you. On the internet nothing is sacred and everything goes. Dont want your kid to receive adult content online? Use parental Controls tto filter what you can and good common sense as a parent to filter what the Controls cant catch. I'm so sick of SE treating everyone in this game like they are ten. (Which at the end of the day is the real issue at hand) I do not possess the capacity to care less than I already do about /doze. What I do care about is being policed by a company that I am paying to entertain me. If I find entertainment in /doze Ing for any reason, in on or around anything, who am I hurting and why should I/they care?

Players will still find a way to do certain things but at the same time SE probably does not want to get raged on when people can do it with ease due to "convenient features". I can understand both sides but the rating on the game package should define the limits so that customers are prepared for what to expect when their youths play and others know what to expect as well.
It reminds me of when I saw a pile of K.O. characters that tactfully and creatively fell into specific poses on a bed because it was the only way for the character physically lay down. Trust me, it is done regardless of how the game itself intends to enable it! The difference is that censoring excludes the game developer from blame where providing content can make them liable for it.
Yes people do cruise mmorpg for this type of play. "Exclusive" can imply that they do nothing else in the game but exclusively cybering.. really they can also level their characters and use the other features of the game in addition to sequestering a large amount of game play for ___ time. It does not have to be purely one or the other for some one to be highly active in both.

Being able to use emotes pretty much anywhere in the game is standard in MMOs. I can't think of a single MMO I have played other than this one that limits what emotes you can use in what areas. What makes this game different from the others?Players will still find a way to do certain things but at the same time SE probably does not want to get raged on when people can do it with ease due to "convenient features". I can understand both sides but the rating on the game package should define the limits so that customers are prepared for what to expect when their youths play and others know what to expect as well.
It is up to SE to decide whether or not they intend to censor their content, regardless of the overall trends in other mmorpg's of the same age rating. Its not that the emote can or cannot be used it is what it can be used for. Like I was saying, there is no real way to stop players from doing suggestive things in a game that allows control of a character and the ability to write text. The problem is that people can hold the developer responsible. I personally think its cool as long as the packaging and TOS defines what is allowed so that people know what they bought. I just totally understand why they might not want to allow certain content.
Edit: When a developer puts content in a game they have to deal with policing it too. It is kind of hard to define without being graphic but some mmo's go the route of allowing it, sequestering it to specific and properly marked areas that are age restricted and then police it to protect players from the abuse that the kind of content tends to attract. I realize one emote that can be taken too far is not the same as specific content designed for that use, my point is when it CAN be done it WILL be done and intended use or not, devs have to deal with the subsequent fallout.

I have yet to find anyone in my city I play with...
People will use emotes for sexual things, this is nothing new. It's not about policing people on the internet, it should be about educating the public. It may no tbe SE job to educate, that falls on to parenting and/or friends. Educate kids in the old school tradition...my mom taught me growing up to never talk to strangers.
In this day and age, I would tell my kids it's important to not give people you don't know information about you. Don't talk to strangers, don't think that everyone on the internet is out to be your friend. If any parent is actually following the ratings system of this game then your kid would be 13 and as a result I am 100% sure they can handle what you're going to tell them.
