Square would never allow it's existence, i mean.. think of how many facepalm memes would be created? They can't let funny, or possibly inappropriate memes, come from the game.
They're only thinking of the children, y'know.

It was rhetorical.
Yes, I am from Balmung, but it's not RPers I see doing it.2. It doesn't go on as much as you think - You get the occasional people try to but considering Balmung I assume is the RP server, of course you'll see that type of behavior there more. I can go to any crowded spot on my server and not see even lalafells trying to air hump someone lol.
I'm also not just on Balmung. The most "interesting" screenshots I've seen (and incidents I've seen, actually) have been from other realms, not Balmung.
I disagree, but you're entitled to your opinion. I mean, as others have pointed out, this goes on all over the place, with current emotes. Do you honestly think a sleep animation (specifically the Lala one shown) would somehow be more prone to "inappropriate behavior" than we already have with Miqo'te doing the /angry emote with Roe /cheering behind them?3. This emote would promote it much more for an obvious reason. It's not like people abusing /pose pictures because even SE knew it would be inappropriate if you even remember when they announced that emote.
I love how you assume this is about ERP. What about people injured in a fight? It's also, quite frankly, silly, when there is so much sexual innuendo, blatant sexual references, and hell, look at the pose animations for half the races!Lastly, there's no reason to complain about this. Plenty of "ERP" themed MMOs out there if this is such a big deal lol.
Ya, that's basically my issue. We don't need a babysitter, for the love of god.I came back to my computer last night to fight my Lalafel in between two male Mi'quotes who were both repeatedly spamming the "psych" emote in such as way as to thrust their hips into my poor little Lala's face. The people that would do whatever with the emotes, already do them.
I personally don't really care whether or not we can use the command outside of FC housing in and of itself, but I am getting sick of the "poor babies need to be babysat and sheltered" attitude SE seems to take with the community. This is kinda the same excuse they gave us with not allowing tells while in a DF group. Players may misuse it to harass other players. Not going to stop me from playing or anything, but also annoying.

This is a contradiction. If it can already be done but you don't see it often then why would adding one more make it happen even more. I have played many MMO where you can lay down ANYWHERE and I have never seen people trying to do inappropriate things. Yes I'm sure it happens but...This emote would promote it much more for an obvious reason.I have a few hilarious and mildly inappropriate pics from 1.0 and ARR involving emotes. It already happens, letting people lay down isn't suddenly going to cause rampant perversion across all servers. It doesn't go on as much as you think
I musta missed this news or announcement. What's happening with a new /doze?
My lalafell /doze is probably the best emote in the game and they already took my oversized +1 shield glow away >![]()
If you type /doze near a bed you'll actually get a resting animation.
The devs were worried people might abuse this and do things inappropriately so they restricted it to FC housing.

Fail. We dont have our FC housing yet - and wont for some time to come thanks to the absurd pricing. Way to exclude me further SE. Appreciate it.

Personally I am not surprised at all. I have come to expect these "babysitting" tactics from SE because they've continually used them on us over and over...
Had to fight for vote to kick you'll have to fight for this too, SE is your new mommy in case you hadn't noticed...
Maybe they should just not implement the emote at all...I mean, that's one more option people aren't considering....
