AK - HM Primal Gear requirements?

Ive recently undertaken farming WP for tomes, and so far have only earned enough to buy a few pieces of my DL set. As WP is getting a bit monotonous, I have been thinking about venturing into AK, and trying for Ifrit HM for a new weapon.

Ive tried AK once, and while I eventually got through it, I found healing through Demon Wall to be a painful experience.

Should I continue to farm WP for DL gear before returning to AK or attempting Ifrit HM, or is gear not as relevant as learning the fights?

most can do ifrit hm with just AF gear, but if you have DL thats good too. If you have WP gear you're def ready for ifrit

WP, AK, and Ifrit are all made to be done as a fresh level 50 in AF. Demon wall is just a learning experience honestly. After a few kills you will become a pro and that fight will be no problem. It is also a fight that has difficulty that is dependent on the rest of your party. If everyone is getting hit by AOEs every time, it is a nightmare.

Decided to try ifrit. I imagine it was pretty sloppy, but we managed it. Got Ifrits Codex first shot =).

In terms of Tome farm, is there any reason to choose AK over WP? Is one faster than the other? Does it really matter?

Demon Wall really is mostly a damage dealer's fight.

AK is great for upgrades. For example when I upgraded my Darklight chest+head to the myth chest, I needed to fill the head slot with the AK helm. The AK ring is another item that has some value, because you can only equip 1 darklight ring, the other must either be myth ring or BC ring.

Besides the chest+head and the legs+feet pieces upgrade problem, there's really no big reason to run AK.

WP is mostly speedrunned and thus people don't go for them chests. The loot in AK is pretty good too as said above. When I enter lvl 50 with a character. I use a grand company weapon. Start relic quest and go do amdapor keep/ifrit. As soon as you have a few DL/AK gear, go do garuda, and keep running AK for tomes and gear. It is a great place to farm for alts as well. Once you are mostly/fully geared, go do Titan HM. Perhaps you might want to farm garuda for her weapon as well if you think you cannot manage titan.
Once that is done, you have your relic. And unless you are farming gear for alts you can leave AK alone and go speedrun WP with your awesome char if you need tomes for yourself or other classes.

This. Don't run from AK because the Wall is tough. Practice AK because the Wall is tough. Teach people who don't know what to do. It's a great way to learn to be better at your class.

Titan HM is going to be a nightmare if you don't have a group of people you can do it with. I was DFing Titan just for the hell of it (crazy right?) and the groups were so bad. It was impressive how bad they were. Titan is what you need gear for mainly because you wont survive stomps and the occasional misstep if you're undergeared.

3200hp for a healer/caster seems to be about the magical number to survive.

At the moment I am just farming WP for tomes so I can obtain a full DL set. Only 3 more pieces to go. As of right now, I've burned through ifrit hm, and garuda hm with ease. AK just seems like an inconvenience. I get that there is gear to be had there, but the dungeon just rubs me the wrong way. For the time it takes to run one AK I could have done 3 WPs, or at least thats whats ringing in the back of my head when I run it.

Upon the advice of those replying to my thread (thank you all, you're awesome!) I have decided to try and farm AK a bit. I've gotten Demon Wall down, but its still a pain in the ass and I hate it XD.

I hit 50 two weeks ago, and since I don't have much time to play(barely 1h/day), I decided to farm Ifrit for the weapon(DF only, and wasn't that bad once I learnt the fight, only a couple of misses, mostly because of ppl leaving), then AK for the AK gear since with the time I have to play, I think only getting DL chest would take me a whole week, maybe 2. I was knid of scared the first time I entered AK, but the PT was awesome(3 of us from Exca, tank from DF) and it was smooth. NO wipe. I ran it 3 more times and never wiped, although I did die on the demon wall but managed to heal everyone so they could burn that brick bastard. Got a couple of nice gear pieces. Once I drop the pants, I guess I'll try Garuda HM, and after that farm the WP for one month in order to gear me for Titan.

Doing Garuda HM with 3-4 AK pieces of gear, Ifrit's cane, and 2 DL is ok?

Oh, and I've never tried WP yet, mostly because I'm scared of those crazy speedrun tanks. Guess I'm the opposite of you, OP.
