Here's one thing my friend noticed (Credit to Mactildis Thorne - Adamantoise)

Originally, the red sash on Lightning's outfit is loose as shown below.

    For A Realm Reborn,

The sash is tucked in the belt.

I guess they had to compensate for having tons of players online.

I played around with my alt who has the outfit, and found the sash does blow based on wind direction. It's still an animation cycle, which means the physics was turned on at some point to record the animation and it just repeats, but it still provides evidence that the sash does blow.

Glad to be proven half wrong. If it wasn't tucked in though, it would collide with the left arm more often. Tucking it in not only decreases the chance they would need to calculate arm collisions and avoid clipping, but it also lowers how many polygons to calculate.

I'm posting to confirm they turned WoL's yellow cape into a scarf and a sash. I'll take that Square-Enix. It is better than having nothing at all.

@Jager: Thank you for your insightful posts on this subject. As I wrote above, I am happy to at least have some form of flowing fabrics on my armor than nothing at all. Hat's off to SE for this.
