How many players log on?

Populations still seem healthy and active on Mysidia and Wutai. I actually seen like a group of 6 doing Behest in Drybone the other night while I was crafting. And it wasn't a Ls pt, they all had different banners. So it seems the lower rank camps are picking up as well. Gridania and Ll still seem pretty left out though, as far populace is concerned. I do however notice that on mysidia more people do leves in gridania than on wutai. But that could probably just be mysidia having a bigger player count. More people- more likely to have people in all zones. I don't know.

I try not to log in more than once every 2 weeks and when I do it's relatively quiet. I just catch up with whoever I know that is around (/point Rentalhamster) at the time and call it a month.

I know a great many people have, as I've seen it put on these forums more than once, gone into a holding pattern of sorts while we await 1.18 and are currently off doing other things but watching closely all the while, and maybe spending some time on the forums. I think if 1.18 pans out (and the 1.18 "Final Straw" thread is a good indication of what may well happen if it doesn't) you'll see a return to more optimistic numbers.

First, I have no idea what you're talking about. I said that the "final straw thread" was an indication of what may come to pass if 1.18 doesn't live up to expectations. I did not define what my opinion of what the final straw is or would be nor did I enter into a discussion of final straws. The fact that I used to term 'final straw' was merely a reference to the thread that contained a grouping of other people's opinions about the upcoming 1.18 update, and how the sentiments expressed there may have a negative effect on server populations post 1.18 if it isn't up to par and has nothing to do with a discussion on what constitutes a final straw. The use of the term was incidental to the reference to those opinions expressed. However, your untempered optimism is noted.

Second, this isn't a point about the prolific nature of doomsayers; I don't know what that has to do with anything either... my opinions and "whatever makes me happy" aren't important in this case. I can "do whatever makes [me] happy" all day long in a very low population server, but I assure you the attempt will be in vain.

p.s. I have my own well formed opinions shaped by what I hope is some introspection and analysis of the world around me and careful (perhaps even thoughtful? no.. probably not) consideration of the other views expressed on these forums. Yes, even those labeled willy-nilly as trolls. Are we to have our own opinions on some island of thought without any consideration of the views of others? Talking at each other instead of having conversations?

I have noticed an increase in gamers too, I never thought about the patches hype causing it.

I have noticed a lot of players on Mysidia, and it's a mix of new and returning players. I actually see people in LL and Grid, at a majority of the camps and just randomly as I do gathering. It's defiantly a noticeable difference on our server.
