Thread: What's supposed to hold us over to 2.2?

From the way some people react, you'd think that because they have done Coil, that the rest of the game is suddenly inaccessible to them like they are restricted from doing anything else. What is there to hold you over until 2.2? Well, everything that 2.1 has to offer,a s well as what the current version has to offer. Amazingly, not everything has to be expanded vertically. The simple fact is, there are far more players who are still coming up to Lv50 for the first time, than there are those who have farmed (or even completed) Coil. If you are going to work hard to finish content very quickly, of course you will have very little progression to make. That's why I take my time with things.

Personally, I am glad that SE are focusing their efforts on creating a very balanced game with things to do for everyone (and that includes those who want to progress upwards; I, too, enjoy that aspect). But it isn't the fault of SE that there are some who are ONLY interested in vertical progression. You have a million (exaggeration) things offered to you that you can do - it is your fault that you choose not to take it. SE would have to sacrifice a lot of quality if they were to provide a huge amount of content every few weeks. That is, obviously, something they aren't willing to do. The design and intention of the game has been made clear several times. Read up on it, and if you don't like that, then the game will never appeal to your needs.

For all those complaining about this game...whats keeping you here? if you think you can make a better mmo go for it! Who cares if theres no "end game" alot of people like to play a game and have "fun", I've been at t5 and im excited to log in everyday and play. Have you guys got your chocobo to rank 10 yet? probably not. 2.1 will actually give things that will want us to log in daily and do things than once a week. If they made CT harder than coil, everyone would skip coil and do CT every monday and than complain about that. Seriously if your crying that you are paying 12 bucks a month than stop and im sure SE won't cry that your 12 bucks arnt going towards them.

Well I know I clear up to t5 near server reset time and I still log in all the rest of the week for numerous hours. It's all up to each individual as to what they want to do. You can't generalize and say everyone...when it's just you and a select number of others.

I'm casual and pretty much out of stuff to do.

I have leveled all the classes I am actually interested in... (not that FATE grinding is what I would call "content", but whatever)...

I have my tradeskill classes.... there's just not really much left for me or my friends to do... no exploring and stuff like that. We will probably cancel and come back later when there is more content.

I like how everyone assumed Yenn said "Don't make content for casual players" when he asked if there's anything for the players who've beaten the current content.

That, and as for the people shouting most haven't downed twin. Yeah we get it its too hard for you. But have you downed anything in coil. and if not do you think that ONE piece of ilvl 80 gear a week going to magically make you good enough to kill her. And dont bet on the mytho cap being raised all that high. I dont think they are going to restrict you to 1 ilvl 80 and get any ilvl 90 in 2 weeks.

I may be misremembering this, but wasn't it said that the cap would be raised to 450, meaning that in 2 weeks you can get a piece of i90 gear?

I don't think CT is meant to be spammed for the gear, but rather for the fun of it. But I forgot... we aren't meant to play the game for the sake of fun, are we.
