    Why can't Coil have the same loot system as CT?

    Girlfriend has been suggesting this for a while now, well before they announced that this is how it would work for CT.

    Wouldn't it solve nearly every problem with coil? You get the loot you actually want. You can go back to previous turns and help friends, which means you don't even need statics anymore. You can spend more time actually doing stuff in the game when you're actually farming for specific pieces of gear. And on top of all of that, you're still limited to 8 drops a week per party so the gate is still there, just much more bearable.

    How would limiting you to one item per week in coil be easymode? If anything, it would be far better. With the current system, it's possible to get up to 8 pieces of gear for you class (You'd literally need the gods on your side for that though, but still , it's possible), I've had weeks where I've gotten 4 pieces of gear for my main/alt classes.
    The other problem with the coil lockout is that it forces 8 man cliques, numerous FCs have broken or have had drama caused by coil groupings (I can say it's happened with my own, too), it just creates a headache by limiting who can run with who each week.

    The Crystal Tower lockout system would have been perfect for coil, it's guaranteed weekly progression while also making sure you never get too much gear, and it allows you to go with whomever you want.

    I have to agree. The lockout system is archaic. They switched things up with the loot system for CT. Too be honest, if more game companies are catering to casual gamers as that is where the money is then guaranteeing them a piece of loot once a week, rather then locking them out and not giving them anything in return can burn a casual out. This would give them a sense of accomplishment and give them a sense of a light at the end of the tunnel. We currently don't have that and can turn people off easily.

    Loot system is fine, but stop locking on participation lock roll once you've cleared once, but let players run the content again at their whim. As it is, the game is regressing into a weekly LAN party. If only it had the latency of a LAN...

    If anything can be gleaned from other games on the market, it is that casual gamers make up the majority of players as we all have things we do in our personal lives and don't have time to dedicate 30+ hours a week to a game on a regular basis. Thing is, if you don't want to feel like your time was not utterly wasted, then having something to show for it helps with that. Hate to say it but gamers are fickle and flighty a lot of the time, we constantly jump ship to another game when we get bored or start feeling like we are wasting our time. That whole wasting time thing may be a perception relative to the person but if you weren't aware, perception is everything. Giving people something to show for their time invested actually will build people's opinions up because they have something to show for it where as currently, yeah you really don't if you aren't very lucky.

    You're more likely to catch flies with honey rather than vinegar (aka nothing at all).

    Here comes the elitist flame war. "Hard" and "challenging" apparently equal weekly static scheduling and dumb RNG luck in this new memo paradigm. I honestly don't want to live on this planet anymore. I wonder if well ever get to the point that content is actually gated on skill level. Least there's PvP to look forward to...maybe...ugh, don't screw it up again SE...

    Make coil lock you from rolling on loot once you've beaten a turn once, but don't lock people from participating and helping friends. Ofc people will sell it, but so what. People have been mercing titan for MONTHS and there are still tons of lv 50s without relics. In either case, people still have to find the gil somewhere, and theres no guarantee they'll get their desired drop, so the content is still being paced.
