    Per Boss Lock vs Full Raid Lock

    This is something I don't think people are taking into consideration. Loot locks will likely be on a per boss basis, as all raid lockouts tend to be, meaning you can get x pieces of gear per week for whatever class, where x is the number of bosses in the Tower.

    We have been told that the Tower has 4 bosses. That means, most likely, you will be able to get 4 pieces of i80 gear per week. Fully gearing a class in i80 in 3 weeks, providing you focus all of your loot rolls for that particular class.

    Is this not fast enough? Seriously?

    Not really. You can run it as many times as you want until you see the item you want. Just don't roll/pass if it's not something you want/need.



    Edit: My post has, for now, been shown to be wrong via translations of Famitsu. That said, people still need to step back and look at the bigger picture: We will have 3 sources of guaranteed loot progression each week in 2.1: CT, Primals, and (increased) Myth. Between these 3, we will be able to gear fairly quickly, for example:

    Week 1 - CT: i80 Head, Primal: i90 Ring
    Week 2 - CT: i80 Gloves, Primal: i90 Wrist, Myth: i90 Body
    Week 3 - CT: i80 Feet, Primal: i90 Ear
    Week 4 - CT: i80 Pants, Primal: i90 Neck, Myth: i90 Belt +Ring

    Combine with the i90 weapon from extreme primal quest line, and you have ilvl 86.66 in 4 weeks, and all guaranteed to happen as long as you put in the time and effort to get the drop.

    I tell you what if that is true that would make sense because CoB is 4 bosses and then you are locked out for the week. But if its 1 piece for the entire place then its stupid.
    I think a DEV member needs to step in one of the many threads and give us some info.

    Replacing one poor loot distribution system with another poor loot distribution system does not invalidate legitimate criticism of poor loot distribution systems.

    I know "instant gratification" is the new buzz word all the cool kids are using to knock on people who don't want to be slaves to RNG or incessant grinds, but you don't create a game with 7 base classes, those then having sub-classes, with even more on the way and expect people to NOT get angry when they can only get one decked out in endgame gear over a period of months. Time is finite. So is patience.

    I don't like the new system either. but when people complain about one system to an extent that they create another, they still need some kind of restriction in place

    Those ambiguous 'people' you're talking about usually aren't the same, for what it's worth. Every change has its detractors. Some have more. Many more.

    It's also worth noting that the Tower loot lockout is yet another direct shot against the idea of having multiple jobs on one character that can be hotswapped between - the mid-range gear is locked even more aggressively than high-range gear. It's quite feasible to be hauling in more i90 gear on a weekly basis than i80 gear for alt jobs - and the best way around these gearing limitations is to instead make second characters rather than level it on your main.

    I will be laughing at everyone that does this and has a different character for every class when SE releases a dungeon that plays to the armory system and has safe zones or something where you can change your job inside the dungeon, but they won't release this soon, they will wait until all of you gear up eight or so different characters, then give us content where it is to your benefit to play the game using the features they put in it. I have fond memories of going white mage with my regen set to get through poison rooms, swapping to black mage to blow up coincounter, and finally busting out monk for Miser's Mistress.
