It has nothing to do with raw healing power but with perception and understanding a fight and what's going to happen. A SCH has much more tools to keep track off and preparations to make while a WHM patches up damage. As often said, SCH is pro-active healer while WHM is a reactive healer. That fact alone asks for a SCH to KNOW and read a fight well because they have to prevent damage. As soon as you have to start patching up as a SCH you will fall behind and get into trouble.

So, not using the right skills at the right time and not properly managing their fairy.

I'm weighing in on this thread kinda late. As a white mage primary, I flippin' love healing with another scholar.

Initially, I didn't know what their abilities did and just kinda did my own thing. But now as I'm starting to see certain abilities execute in the party list and learning where the synergy is, it is super helping.

One reason recently being if someone cames back with Weakness or Nophica's teats forbid, double Weakness, the white mage can top off and Stoneskin, but if that's enough to survive an unavoidable AoE, person dies. Working alongside a Scholar, that person lives through the unavoidable and may yet live long enough for Weakness to fade.

The only time I've been hated on for not healing enough I was a blm X.x
That said I suspect you get hated on as sch because either
A)You not healing proactively(Adlo and succor are useless is the shield simply wears off)
B)The Whm doesn't understand how Sch works
C)The Whm is jealous because Sch doesn't have aggro or mana problems like a Whm does.

Love having scholar secondary healer in my party. They work well with healer. Very glad when i see secondary healer is a sch.

I do dislike the scholars on the forum who say that whm don't deserve any QoL fixes.

Exactly Kyo, I like to simplify it by saying lazy but that is exactly what I mean and with a good other healer in a pt you can easily get away with it and have it not be noticed. Good other healer being either WHM or SCH, I have no hate for SCH at all I have said it multiple times my preferred partner is SCH. However if the SCH is just going to sit there in Cleric stance and DPS and not focus on the proactive skills that make it awe inspiring and amazing then might as well just have one healer. Either way a lazy healer is awful regardless of class, the OP asked why I would have an issue or what could cause it and I answered. I think the vast, VAST majority of WHM would agree we adore SCH, and most of us prefer them as our team mate in battle. The who is better argument is so damn stale, jaded and unfounded neither is better or both are better depending on any xyz situation.

I'd probably play SCH if they had male fairies, for some reason every game i've played with fairy minions they make them look like freaky little lady gaga dolls with wings and i hate it

I've never seen a WHM hate on a SCH when running Bard. And I don't hate on SCH's as a WHM (which is my main job =p), in fact I prefer having a SCH along with me as WHM for healing. 2 WHM can cure bomb a lot and send of a few regens or medica II if everyone gets hurt, but a WHM+SCH can cover everybody in the party much easier.

In general, WHM/SCH should be any groups default stance for any new content they will be trying as they give you the best of both worlds.

I can see the merits of SCH / SCH on Twin as it gives you huge mitigation bonuses constantly, cures that aren't mitigated by healing debuffs, and fairies to soak up more fireball damage.

Now, would you take SCH / SCH to say, if Turn 6 (theoretically speaking) had, say, Locksmith (AV boss #1) as it's end game boss? I highly doubt that. You'd bring WHM/WHM to that.

In short, all groupings have their pros and cons. SCH / WHM is a good default answer to any content that is new in general or a new group will be tackling for the first time. If people feel their current strategy benefits from a different group composition and / or strategy, they will make the adjustments themselves.

I love having a scholar in the group. Most of the time, I get to relax, enjoy my drink and puff on my e-Cig.
I know the parts of Coils when I get to chill and when I have to work.

Let the scholar do all the busy work.
