Leves of the Observatorium - Saving Bessy

I'm hoping I'm just missing something simple. I thought I was supposed to kill Baritine Crocs and get meat they would drop to finish this quest. I've killed about 50 and nothing so far has dropped. Am I doing something wrong?

You do this levequest next to the Observatorium. There is a green circle in the map. I think it's (27, 26).
All you need to do is start the levequest and kill the snapjaws to get some croc meat.

See this is the problem, they used the same name for the crocs in this quest and that made it confusing. For anyone else who comes here and reads these posts, the proper way to do this quest is to go to the green circle and initiate the quest. Baritime Snapjaw crocs will appear, kill the crocs, use the meat and finish the quest in five minutes. DO NOT GO to 4x 21y and kill hundreds of Baritime crocs to get meat first.

That's how all leves work. You don't gather anything ahead of time. Go to location, initiate, complete objectives.

The quest can only be started when ET(Eorzea time) is currently morning, anywhere from:
12:00 am ET - 11:59 am ET
in other words if you are past noon, it won't let you start till after midnight
it's not super obvious but the quest at the start mentions "A pair of foul things tried to get at our Bessy this morning. The more worldly among us named them red aevis, minions of the dragon horde. For their crime, they must be killed posthaste"
the key word being morning, some quests are like this so try taking everything you read into account

As far as I recall, levy mobs should have a little silver levy tag on their name tag if it is your levee.
