I find it funny I get to you and to be honest your immature and mockery replies are about as annoying as someone who trolls, so in the end we're no different. I dislike something, I express that, you dislike me disliking and you express that. Thus I may be a troll at times, but you're just easily upset.

Compared to other people I am hardly a troll, infact I've never once made my own thread and I run a pretty dedicated and well liked XIV Community site that even if I quit XIV I will still run and dedicate myself to.

Recently I've been finding myself with less and less interest to play ffxiv. I've been working on Goldsmithing off and on when the mood (or lack of anything else to do) hits. Sometimes I catch myself just sitting there looking at my other monitor going through these very forums hoping for some new news.

Last night during my static leve run I think I linked instead of aspecting... twice. This lack of focus came from a lack of interest which came from the fact that this was probably the 500th time I'd done these exact same leves since I started leveling a few fighting classes.

I woke up this morning about to log on and thought to myself, why? I'm going to log in and waste hours of my life grinding away doing the same motions that I've been doing for months and I have news for you SE, It's not fun.

The crafting system (like many people have said) is very boring. It was enjoyable at first, but when you creep up on your 500th hour of sitting in one spot hitting standard to finish a synth so you can throw it away to make room for more, the novelty ends quickly.

Where is the "content" for crafters? I seriously enjoyed the Alchemist storyline, why can't leves be more like that? Why can't our leve quests have meaning instead of the same "make 6 rings so the strippers can put them in sensitive places" everyday? Why can't we come to an NM fight and (like the Goldsmith quest with the spriggan) need to pick up items around the spawn point to craft and throw at the monster to weaken it? You have the mechanics already, how about you use your imaginations to put those mechanics to good use? There are hundreds (still thousands?) of people in the game that could come up with encounters using the same mechanics that are in place now... without needing an overhaul.

With the promise of actual content coming in 1.18 (Dungeons and their bosses mainly) we may actually have some more interesting things to do. But FFXIV was interesting at first too. How long will the novelty last? And will it be something we can enjoy at least 3 months down the road without wanting something different (aside from the usual trolls of course)

But if it fails (I mean miserably not troll whine fail) For how many of you is this the final straw?

I'm in the exact same boat as you. Working on goldsmithing. Linking accidentally. Almost no interest to play.

Something needs to happen soon.

well my friend besides this one your last 2 points had nopthing to do with anything and were troll garbage posts in my definition, and im sorry you log on to this games forum everyday and expect to see nothing but rainbows and sunshine. Honestly what you expect is a wet dream at best. the people that left this game are in a vast majority to the people who stick around and actually enjoy it, this doesnt count those who stick around to see where it goes, and this game will not survive just off of you alone. You need to realise that since you like this game so much you should be counting your lucky stars the game was made by SE cause of it was anyone else the plug woulda been pulled a while ago. And if things dont turn around, which i think the OP does a good thing by showing SE just where everyones lines are drawn, this game still has a possibility to die. SO if you dont like threads showing dislike for the game, dont read them or post on them and go play the game you enjoy.

I do enjoy the game, but I come on here to see peoples ideas and point of views not "bashing the game" comments theirs a huge difference I'm sorry. and no actually, because I played and beat threw FFXIII and I never played it again because it wasn't " an up to snuff again" to do a rerun of it.

FFXI I played for 7 years best MMO, Am I still playing that now? no because its starting to get old now, I log on every now in then but I dont play like I used too.

Apparently people like you just don't see that alot of things has happen to them with the Earthquake and all, and the switching of the new dev teams. But Quite frankly, I just don't see you or the people that have responses like the one I quoted, people want thing now now now now now but what you and other people don't "Realize" is that they are hard working, and the game has improved alot ( not content wise I give ya all that). However, those updates, are to patch up a "broken game" that Tanaka and his crew left behind for Yoshi-P and his team.

You think its easy fixing a broken game? its not hard.. Its a Numbered FF game, I and several other people would want them to trash their Flagship title! The Series that Saved their company from bankruptcy.

Threads showing dislikes of the game? (which most of the time leads to bashing the game down!) don't you have better things to do then to trash games you don't like?

Well man all those yous you are throwing around i am going to assume are not directed at me, as i am one of the people that does not really bash the game as i probably want it to succeed more then anybody, i just have this odd ability of seeing both sides of the coin and pisses me off when people act like its all just peaches and cream on this game. Im glad this game is coming around and ive been keeping my friends up to date on the changes as they happen so i can do my part to bring players back once the game is in order, however the complaint threads dont bother me as there are often good points of view that come out of alot of them.
You get awfully defensive and i have no idea why, then you are going to attack me even though you have a clear misunderstanding on my actual position on this game. Im telling you if you dont like these threads dont read them, simple as that. people like you, if i can throw around the personally attacking yous for a bit, do this game a disservice in the long run as you are just as blind as the trolls, and you blissfully ignore the fact that in reality you are damn close to not having a game at all. Ask games like tabula rasa and apb and a slew of others how their mmo went. I don't ignore the forums because I do see alot of people give Positive and negatives views on the game and how they want to improve it. What I don't like when I see here and their saying " SE sucks" or "FFXIV sucks" type posts in between all the actual ideas and thoughts.

being blindy optimistic helps no one either, you need a realistic and varied view to understand whats going on, what you should notice here is people who have supported and enjoyed the game, getting tired of it and dissappointed, this is a real problem, if even diehards cant last, then what about average people? It takes time to do things and problems is all well and good, but there is a limit to peoples patience, different people have different limits,

8 months in, new team or no, people want to see something tangible. its not crazyness, its not trolling, its telling SE that they are reaching the point when people start to lose a connection to the game.

Its possible that the next update could add enough to keep people interested and connected, thats what the op is saying, or hoping for, some are saying that soon after they may get on track, but most people are just letting SE know, that now is the time, if they dont start adding real content, that makes people want to play the game soon, and put things on the table as coming soon that people are interested in, then they will lose more and more people, even when the game costs nothing.

Aye, will probably leave for good if 1.18 is another letdown.

Might come back in a year or so but I worry the game won't make it that far.

only reason i cant login everyday is cuz all you do is the same shit all day everyday. i wouldnt be mad at them if they added alot more leves that did more than "kill these mobs" hell they should copy everquest 1 quest now thats not boring at all some quest take forever some dont but the thing is your killing, gathering and moving around the map, eq1 epic quest like FFXI AF armor quest took so long and made you feel like you were playing a RPG, only thing they should leave out is typing in key words for the npc to talk to you.
real quest adventure FFXIV's map is big why not use it and its only have the map we have access to. they should atleast make quest like FFXI's missions they were fun and a pain, but people logged in to do them.
