Curious, of all things why would the cancellation of the PS3 release stop you? I assume you are all ready playing on the PC?I really do not understand all the FFXIV hate (or disapproval). I love FFXIV as is. As long as they continue to add content (as all MMORPG's do) Anything else (tweaked combat, chocobos, etc...) is a bonus. I am one of the ones that will be here regardless of what happens in 1.18. The only thing that would stop me from playing FFXIV is if they cancelled the PS3 version.

because if you didn't notice it was so bad that the majority of people that got the game originally thought it was so bad they would not even play the game with it being free to play. continue to add content? there hasn't been enough content added in the entire time it has been out to even be a single content patch in most other games. well unless you count doubling the mob and magic animation sizes as content.I really do not understand all the FFXIV hate (or disapproval). it is time and 1.18 will be the deciding factor for most players still playing. i know by listening to most of the members in the 5 shells i am in my server will be a complete ghost town if this patch isn't a huge success. it's hard for me to imagine it much worse than it is at this point. the game does still have some players that love the game, but the majority are sick of not getting the fixes that have been talked about since it was released and are still sitting in the we will look into it after this. if the patch doesn't go well and good information about what they plan to do next isn't released soon after then i fear the outcome.
as long as my friends stay in game i will do the same, but it they leave i have nothing to stay for.

Its the final straw for me, I rarely even play as it is because I can't seem to find the will to grind anymore or sit around and wait for a leve party thats in my range. This game is greatly annoying and thats putting it very nicely because If i wanted to really describe how I felt about this game it would result in me getting banned.
Everything from how you level up, to how the craft system is pretty bad. The leve's are bad because theres only a few worth doing for maximum sp. I could literally spend 8 hours talking about how annoying I find the game in its current state.

Their next offering will be the last chance for me too. It has been too long already with this amount of flawed systems ingame. Can't complain about it as I don't pay, but I can stop playing
They need to realise their next move is going to make or break it for the die hard few who have stuck around. They lose those players too, and they will have no one left to trust in them
Make your next move carefully SE, your cavalier and ignorant approach to your playerbase has reached breaking point, and if you don't start delivering, we may well be seeing the end to the numbered series too.
Sure you could do other leves, but really it's just glorified grinding, and it's not even that glorified. When playing a single player FF game, you went grinding for a reason. That reason was to be able to beat a boss be able to get certain items. But, there's no endgame or anything else besides faction and roaming NMs. I've been playing in statics for a while but im getting sick of just killing for sp, I want challenge, I want rewards and I want story. So in that respect, this is a make or break patch.I do agree with the lackluster of excitement, adventure and emotion this game brings in its current state.
I'm not sure though how you do your leves in the static group but im assuming you just abandon and repeat the same leves in uldah area along with the majority of the population?
There are several other camps and leves through out Grid, Limsa, Uld that you could try to do as well. Several of them are potentially better then the "good" uldah leves. If you have a static you guys can easily share ports and port to cities and get leves you guys can link together.
Just a thought to maybe break away from the norm~
I've stopped playing or logging in long ago. I don't even think there are any people ingame that still remember I ever was there. The only reason I'm here is that I already wasted my money on this game and now I'm just relatively curious what SE will do about this game. I can't say 1.18 is the "last straw" for me, I'm just waiting for other games to be released at the moment. If FFXIV won't get improved until those games are released, then they are just going to lose me, because I won't be playing multiple games, I'm too busy with RL for that.

I'm still having a lot of fun with XIV.
But there's a very specific reason for this: I'm what many would consider a "casual" MMO gamer.
Not a casual gamer. I'm pretty on point when it comes to gaming.
But as far as MMO standards, I'm casual. I work 9 - 5, and when not at work or out on the town, I'm playing either XIV or some other non-mmo game.
Unfortunately, it seems I'm the target demographic for this game...at least until 1.18 comes about...
I prefer Guildleves over FFXI-type grinding where you just stand in one place, pull mobs and kill them for no other reason than to get EXP. At least with leves, there's a purpose. They definitely need a lot more of them, as well as more variation, while also tweaking existing leves. It would also be nice if you got rewarded more for upping the difficulty and doing it with less members, basically making SP gained in proportion with effort made.
