Is 1.18 the final straw?

I know a few players on my server that have stated that 1.18 is do or die for them.
I don't know how high their expectations are, but i'm guessing fairly high as this is the first major patch.
I myself can't honestly say if I'll keep playing if this patch is poor.
I'm quite tired of having little or nothing to do with my main class, and the only thing keeping other ls members going is grinding leves on their other classes. I for one am so sick of leves I'd like to see the whole system tossed out. (you can grind as much sp an hour fighting regular mobs in a party)

I do know without a doubt, that I'm reaching the point on the current content that i could care less about playing anymore, so I welcome the 1.18 patch and hope it makes things a bit more enjoyable.

One time I took a break from battling and spent 6 hours walking around Eorzea, It was really refreshing and fun. As i do that more often the game seams better.

Seems a lot of people are hyping this patch up to be way more than it really is and are going to be disappointed. If you're sick of waiting that's one thing, take a break and come back later or not depending on what they do. If you expect 1.18 to fix everything and magically thousands of hours of content pops into existence then you'll be disappointed and rage quit.

From my understanding 1.18 is SOME of the battle changes (which ones I have no idea but certainly not all of it), 2 of the dungeons and various other content/fixes. It's going to be a rather large patch yes but not the one big push that fixes everything for everyone.

As for me, regardless I'll still be playing. Even in its inferior state I find I have more interest in FFXIV than any other MMO I've played. I've had the game since launch, played beta too, took a couple of months off shortly after launch and I've been playing regularly since I came back. I'll take small breaks here and there when console releases of interest hit but I always come back once I'm through with those.

1.18 is the start of many good things.

but everybody wants what they want now.

perfection won't be attained easily, so be patient
or stop playing in the current state

Love your quote in the sig <3 Avatar, but the game is gonna be creeping up on its 1 year anniversary, people have waited a good deal already. I'm just hoping it'll be enough to tie us in so they can work some real magic.

Everything from how you level up, to how the craft system is pretty bad. The leve's are bad because theres only a few worth doing for maximum sp. I could literally spend 8 hours talking about how annoying I find the game in its current state.

Everyone already knows what is wrong with the game - that would be why SE is overhauling the game little by little each patch that comes out.

Stating the obvious over and over about what everyone already knows will merely annoy most readers who read the forums for new info about the changes and new ideas for new changes.

If believe the Dev's want this game to meet the high expectations of an FF series; then have faith that it will.
And help them do it!

This destruction that his been going on in the forums is helping nobody.

Oh I agree, It's not like SE has intentions of letting this game fail, but it has been pretty hard, and the player base has just been voicing that. Only by letting SE know whats wrong can any change come, and I'll admit that a lot of it is overkill, but it's understandable to me at least. I thought Tanaka's 'vision' was poor or clouded, or poorly executed, and I like the turn that the team is taking now with planned stuff, but we all don't know how much of that we are going to get in 1.18, and judging by this game's track records, I'm skeptical too.

Well Daedae i think they started there magic a few months ago, and they have already started to tie people in, even if they don't realize it. Everything is uphill from hear.

(you posted before i finished typing this so it might not make any sense)
