This game is too big to remain free to play to SE, and if 1.18 doesnt bring people back like they hoped, and instead loses people as it seems to be many peoples last straw, we very well may see these servers go down. PS3 version will be scrapped as it just wouldnt be worth it to put it out anywhere else as it will lose SE money. All i can hope is that they do deliver, because if they dont we very well may see this game go down.

i guess i'll give the game untill it's one year mark.
not like i'd quit for good then, but probably take a break untill further patches.
i'm hopeful tho what will come during summer.

At this point, only thing that keeps me going is my LS friends on ventrilo. Not a day goes by that we haven't had a convo about this and similar topics.
I'll go wherever HiddenPower LS goes if FFXIV dies.
I'm giving the game until New Year's Day. That's when Yoshi-P officially announced himself to the FF fans, so I'm giving him a year to prove he can make this game better. If the game isn't good by then or doesn't keep my interest, then I'm moving on.

I feel the same way. I've stopped logging on myself, and I've been around since the beginning. It's sad to see myself fall behind on FFXIVpro but I just can't play this game anymore.

The battle revisions, job system, Grand companys, and dungeons are going to be make or break additions to the game. there either going to be the corner stones of the future of ffxiv or the head stone. The pressure is on for them and they know it. its no surprise that there taking there time to get this right the first time, there out of second chances in a lot of peoples books.
As for me, my play time these past weeks has been minimal, and that's being generous. I am in a holding pattern with xiv like a lot of other players. I have a dow class to max rank, a shed load of support skills from other classes unlocked and a doh that's relatively skilled. I'm just waiting for something fun and interesting to do with them.

Probably not.
As long as Square is willing to pump money into the game there will always be more patches to improve and add content.
As far as I see it, his is just the fist of the many big updates to come.

for me its the same 1.18 is the fork in the road if its another rinky dink up date i'mma turn left and contiue running because i like most are fed up with waiting for this game to be worth calling final fantasy

I wouldn't say it is the final straw, but if it doesn't impress me more than previous "content" patches have, or if I actually dislike the changes, I will be logging in less than I already do and probably only to do things with my LS a few times a week. 'Cause by the time 1.18 is out I'll probably have hit my second R50 battle class and I have zero desire to rank up another one.
I won't be quitting though . . . as long as the game is free to play, I doubt I'll stop logging in altogether.
