Thread: Is 1.18 the final straw?

I wouldn't say it is the final straw, but if it doesn't impress me more than previous "content" patches have, or if I actually dislike the changes, I will be logging in less than I already do and probably only to do things with my LS a few times a week. 'Cause by the time 1.18 is out I'll probably have hit my second R50 battle class and I have zero desire to rank up another one.

I won't be quitting though . . . as long as the game is free to play, I doubt I'll stop logging in altogether.

When is this patch releasing? I'm so sick of XIV. There's nothing to do and it runs pretty badly unless you close all your other stuff and play it on full screen if you don't have a high range video card.
Currently all you do is pretty much grind leves and level jobs even though the job system and ability tree is going to totally change (not to mention cross class skills and so on).

And it feels like a million years since the last patch. Because lets face it, that last 17.b or whatever was no patch.

I'm gonna wait and see if content is actually interesting, but I probably won't play until it's all ready. IDK, I'm just tired of waiting. I've moved on to bigger and better things :/

I'll stick around, I'm pretty patient, and the game ground up has so much promise to improve upon what's already there. I think a lot of people may leave, but it's safe to assume many will be interested again a couple years down the road when the game is solid and up and running.

Theres no way this game is even going to get a second look a couple years down the road if it doesnt retain its playerbase now, if it doesnt do that the game will shut down, not to mention even if it does hold on to a very small cult following, most will have moved on to the MMOs that will just be releasing, whatever they are, a few years from now. Most mmos that opened like this one were unplugged right away. Only ones backed by big names are able to stay on life support, and thats a rather meager existence for a numbered game in the final fantasy series.

The game needs so much more than what SE is working on.
They called it a reboot, an overhaul but I don't see anything changing in a meaningful way from what this game was in beta.

The letters were nice but there aren't going to be traditional FF jobs, no AH that works, no changes to the environment and no storyline quest that keep you wanting to see the ending.

Everything I wanted them to fix is still broken and not even in the list of things they're "looking into" and even when they say that they're not doing anything about the things they were supposed to "look into" 6 months ago.
