I was worried XII would be my last FF game after playing the awful game that was X some years prior but SE surprised me and put out a game that was almost on par with FFVII. I don't know about you but i have heard nothing about a Final Fantasy XV, keep in mind the two new FF's are FF XIII-2 and FF XIII Versus.

There seems to be a pretty consistent correlation between old school FF player and the newer FF player's when it comes to the quality of FF games.

What i have heard:

Old School: FF6, FF7, and FF10 being best; FF12, FF13 very poor.

New School: FF12 and FF13 are done right; FF7 and FF10 are immortalized as best but are actually poorly done.

Personally being a old school FF fan and growing up on FFIV, id say FF XII and FF XIII are absolute gaming diarrhea.

EDIT: none of these above opinions are backed by actual statistics of known facts this is just from my experiences.

Then I enjoy diarrhea quite a bit...in fact I take colonoscopy pills just to get my bowel movements rollings because I love diarrhea that much.

I really do not understand all the FFXIV hate (or disapproval). I love FFXIV as is. As long as they continue to add content (as all MMORPG's do) Anything else (tweaked combat, chocobos, etc...) is a bonus. I am one of the ones that will be here regardless of what happens in 1.18. The only thing that would stop me from playing FFXIV is if they cancelled the PS3 version.

Curious, of all things why would the cancellation of the PS3 release stop you? I assume you are all ready playing on the PC?

Because I stopped playing PC games years ago as sitting in front of a monitor, hunched over a keyboard is a lot less enjoyable than relaxing on a couch in front of a big HDTV. (Hooking a PC up to the TV is not quite the same thing either) I bought the PC FFXIV to play for a couple months (that has since turned into an undetermined amount of time) until the PS3 version came out (just so I could experience it from the start with everyone else) and have no desire to continue to do so (on the PC) for much longer. I do not think them cancelling the PS3 version is likely to happen though, just saying that it is the only thing that would make me stop playing.

What if a whole assload of content is released and it's geared for pre-lv50 players. What then? That's the kind of situation i'm trying to avoid by simply dropping the game until the game is worth playing. Leveling up JUST to level up sounds depressing.

Yeah I know what you mean, but I suppose the main thing is the people I play with. I mean what else are we supposed to do as a group, we have been everywhere, done everything the only thing left is to level classes.

Play a different game as a group? I play several different online games with the same LS mates I met years ago in FFXI. I mean we all played XIV together as well but moved on to games that were, you know, fun.
