Final straw? Probably not.. will I long in as much if it fails? Hell no.. Will I stop watching the game? No, I put in way too much time into this already, no point pulling out now I suppose.

The battle system is a backbone of an MMO, we have to kill mobs to progress in anything really, if we don't have a battle system then we have an interactive book. This system they have been working on for a while, I mean, they can't just have it done in a single month, there's lots of mathematics, testing, and balancing they need to do to each ability, each attack, and each mob. Once it's in, the updates will be a bit more frequent, because they will be able to focus more on content.

i'm not expecting that much from this patch though i'm excited cause it will give us something new to do for awhile, during there work on fixing the game. i think one day in long future this game will be fixed and great, buuuuut at some point i think i will be taking a break from this game, play it off and on a little while playing a new mmo cause i can't just sit around for another year playing the amount of hours i like to throw at my mmo. so rage quit probably not, but only logging in a few hours a week probably. (besides, i got screwed, i payed for 140bucks in prepaids that are unrefundable and i don't think anyone will buy them on craigslist lmao) maybe i rage quit after i run out of those lolol.

only thing i can turn to a possitive is that least when game is fixed lot of us have been awarded without pay a huge push forward in game and there will always be new classes for me to see it all in it's glory later.

Reminds me of what happened to Vanguard from sony. Though their problem was dev teams lack of interest for game and people wanted to play it, but was too buggy and lacked patches with more end game content. So who knows whats going to happen, but so far they been patching every month with FFXIV so its more then what some games companies do when the game dont cut it.

While it's nice that they are attempting to patch issues, this is also part of the problem. If they just let the game die after everyone jumped ship I don't believe it would have caused as much damage to their reputation as this game is going to eventually.

Mainly because there are just so many things wrong with the game, and to say patches are being released in a slow manner is being very generous and polite. As it stands it is well over 6 months of being released, and let's be honest, nothing of substance has been released besides basic bug fixes. Just the fact that 1.18 looks so promising is sad itself when the major addition is auto-attack... Stop and think about that for a moment... Auto-attack... Auto-attack should have been implemented in a week, now you actually have people looking forward to it and praising it almost a year later. You can chalk this up to coding or management all you like, SE however is a company that has more than enough resources to have done this in a timely manner.

That's my point, with the kind of resources SE has at their disposal, that is simply unacceptable. I find that more a slap in the face as a fan and consumer. If you don't want to do something, don't do it. I personally would much rather that than how it seems it is being done half-heartedly. They really needed to pull out all the stops to salvage this game, instead they put a new dev team with better PR in place. I feel bad for Yoshi and the new team. While you may be able to climb Mount Everest with a small backpack and one friend, your chances are grim at best.

FFXI had tons of problems its first year too. The difference is the US and EU never saw that year.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

And neither did you (except for some old youtube videos). Your assumption with this statement is that XI's launch was as bad or worse than XIV's, and you don't have enough evidence to support that.
