The class system is ruining the game. The devs essentially said "We are too lazy to create group dynamics and class progression, so lets just make an assload of classes and let the players try and figure out something paletable"Sometimes it's easy to get lost with the issues, but I thought maybe we could share our thoughts on what we believe are the strengths of FFXIV. Share your own thoughts and opinions. Even the perfect can be perfected and with that.. we're not looking for perfect features. So feel free to share what you believe are some of the strengths of FFXIV.
HUD/UI
I think it's pretty amazing allowing me so much freedom to customize key interface components on my screen. I look forward to more widgets and more customization features in the future, this truly has been a highlight for me.
Class System
I think it's pretty unique, even in its infancy I can see a system with so much possibility to shine as it already does. The concept appeals to me so much, and feels like an evolution of the "subjob" system.
Action Bar / Abilities and Traits
The Blue Mage System as I like to call it lol. I really like the Action bar. I really like the point system for setting your abilities and spells. Yeah they're two separate components, but they go hand in hand. The action bar feels like a perm-macro menu, and the ability system allows me to set the most relevant abilities and spells, weeding out the unnecessary.
Graphics
Not to be confused with art style (although i'm a fan of that as well). It is such a beautiful world. Ignoring the current repetitive environments, everything else is so rich in detail and I can only imagine future areas, monsters, and armor with great detail.
Teleport
And last, but certainly not least... this system, once perfectly balanced, is very generous. I imagine with mounts and other transportation implemented, the teleport system will be a strong alternative to getting around instantly for any Class/Job, at any level.
Teleport was a very blatent sidestep to developing mounts and ship transportation in the game in order to rush it to the market.
The graphics were terribly optimized for months after the release. Even the GTX 460 which they recommended couldn't run the game at decent framerates.
The UI was a battle to use when the game was released for PC and still is a piece of (expletive deleted)! The devs had the truely enlightened idea of creating a UI for the PS3 controller and then releasing the game on PC first... genius!
There's no interaction with many of these explorable regions. A white canvas with one single black dot on it, its still an empty white canvas.Just recently someone posted pictures of the factories north of Bluefog and quite a few people chimed in saying they had never seen them before.
I only found the giant windmills in Coerthas about a month ago.
A few weeks ago someone posted pictures of the red cliffs area which I have never been to.
There are also many areas of the Black Shroud that I haven't seen yet, such as the fairy houses.
Have you explored all areas of every region?

Nothing. This game needs to be fixed, nothing feels right.
I really don't think having teleport at the start of the game's life is a great idea, it's promoted laziness and the ability to do things waaaay to quickly, especially since there wasn't much to do in the game at the release save for exp grinding and leves, oh and the laughable storyline battles...
The ONLY thing that this game got right was the depth of detail put into the graphic textures, too bad they only made 50 different textures through out the game and just copy/pasta'd everywhere.![]()
What I felt the game did right? Jack crap.
i don't consider mediocrity and poor game mechanics to be right, so id say its all wrong...
The list the OP gave is actually a lot of what I hate. The UI/Action bar/Actions/traits are actually some of the topics bought up most in rants and most of it is being redone. Teleportation I dont like because it continues in this MMO generation of completely destroying travel and making the mmo world seem tiny, also 95% of all that work and beautiful landscape they make is never seen by anyone.
The class system is another thing they are apparently drastically changing.
Graphics are probably the best thing this game has going.
Why can't people here allow some of us to peacefully talk about things we like in FF14?
What drives you to spew your hate and negativity while adding nothing constructive?
If this is what 1st world societies have come to, may whatever higher power you believe in help us all.
You have the choice to not post in a thread that detracts from your peaceably posting about your positive attitude towards FF XIV. I do not feel that a Final Fantasy forum is a proper place to judge a 1st world country let alone 2nd or 3rd.Why can't people here allow some of us to peacefully talk about things we like in FF14?
