In duo/trio scenarios I feel Gladiator can shine as a tank class but aside from that there isn't much else.

battle system solo to 30ish seemed pretty good. 1.1.1.1.1 would get you killed regardless of what job.
Battle system originally for skele and eft parties was pretty cool too because you actually had to use skills, and if ppl would have regimened at that time the kills would have been even faster.
Also the old SP system made it worthwhile to use abilities like disorient and such, which debuff the mob kinda while giving sp
I just think some abilities are unbalanced, and some mobs were made too easy.
Once they changed how you get so though the battle system failed.
Mew!
Hmmm lets see,
1) Character Models are simply best looking most polished and beautiful than u can find in any mmo, add to this motion capture, and cool voice acting.
2) Story and cut scenes are great, hopefully we will get much more of them.
3) Leve system it's also really good one and serve well, it just need to be polished a bit
4) Behest have a loot of room for improvements but it's cool system on the end.
5) NM's.
6) Realistic graphic in general, and I don't mean copy paste terrainI mean sky, weather, nature etc, I'ts the only mmo where world don't look and feel like it's made from paper to me.
7) Art style it's on a very high lvl.
8) I think music in game its also quite good.
9) Sound in game it's also high quality try to listen storm in Gridania on some good surround system and u will know what I mean.
10) Gamepad controls, 4 me it's huge plus, how many mmo's have that?
11) Class system it's very good and it looks like it will be even better.
12) I love Archer Class in FFXIV.
13) I totally and absolutely love how Bow's and Arrows are made in this game, simply best, can't w8 to see more models
14) It's Final Fantasy game![]()

the game works, but they sure work slow at SE
I like that we have portable workstations for crafting.
Besides graphics (which still needs improvements to Depth of Field, water rendering, shadows, gameworld streaming), crafting is really the only thing that is an achievement of SE's. As already stated, they did not excel at very much.

Crafting
Gathering
Class System (On actual real mobs, leve mobs is just a zerg. Still think leves are the problems with the armory system)
Graphics
Group focused throughout game
Loved the Mobs interactions with you back before the November screw-up patch. Was the only mmo that everything in the world interacted with you... unfortunately the NAs QQed enough it got axed.

It was very brave of you to start this thread.
Too bad it got overrun with hate so quickly.
Class system - I like the flexibility. I also like the implementation. Sure you can have cross-class setting of abilities, but there are checks and balances in place, such as area of effect, duration, and potency.
Graphics - Very nice. I hope they add more fantasy elements (art style, I know) in the future, but otherwise I'm quite happy with the visuals over all.
Teleport - No problem here. I use teleporting when I'm in a rush (like when a friend is waiting for me), or need to go somewhere far or dangerous -- otherwise I just run. My anima has only gone below 90 twice.
I'd like to add:
Races - I'm very happy with the design of the character races, but that's probably because I didn't come from FF11 and didn't have existing expectations of what things "should" be.
More than just battles - I enjoy the battles together with LS friends. I also like that it's not the only thing to do. Crafting and gathering are valuable elements of the game, IMO.
Music - Would be even better if there were a few variations of each location's theme, which were played randomly.
Landscape - Sure there are repeated elements all over, but there are also many unique and visually stunning places. The other day I was looking at the Thanalan map and thinking that I'd love to explore the areas south of Broken Water and around Bluefog together with my LS friends. There is still so much we haven't seen just because we haven't really explored all that Eorzea has to offer. ^^
Sometimes it's easy to get lost with the issues, but I thought maybe we could share our thoughts on what we believe are the strengths of FFXIV. Share your own thoughts and opinions. Even the perfect can be perfected and with that.. we're not looking for perfect features. So feel free to share what you believe are some of the strengths of FFXIV.
HUD/UI
I think it's pretty amazing allowing me so much freedom to customize key interface components on my screen. I look forward to more widgets and more customization features in the future, this truly has been a highlight for me.
Class System
I think it's pretty unique, even in its infancy I can see a system with so much possibility to shine as it already does. The concept appeals to me so much, and feels like an evolution of the "subjob" system.
Action Bar / Abilities and Traits
The Blue Mage System as I like to call it lol. I really like the Action bar. I really like the point system for setting your abilities and spells. Yeah they're two separate components, but they go hand in hand. The action bar feels like a perm-macro menu, and the ability system allows me to set the most relevant abilities and spells, weeding out the unnecessary.
Graphics
Not to be confused with art style (although i'm a fan of that as well). It is such a beautiful world. Ignoring the current repetitive environments, everything else is so rich in detail and I can only imagine future areas, monsters, and armor with great detail.
Teleport
And last, but certainly not least... this system, once perfectly balanced, is very generous. I imagine with mounts and other transportation implemented, the teleport system will be a strong alternative to getting around instantly for any Class/Job, at any level.

Character and enemy design really shine out to me in this game. I also like the more realistic take on the clothing, I just wish there was more variety.
Also the gathering and crafting systems are a huge step above XI. But again there needs to be more to them as they are a really uninteresting solo grind.
Lol go explore, you will find more of the same caves, more of the same terrain, and no substance. Do you think people are lying when they say there is nothing?Landscape - Sure there are repeated elements all over, but there are also many unique and visually stunning places. There is still so much we haven't seen just because we haven't really explored all that Eorzea has to offer. ^^

Just recently someone posted pictures of the factories north of Bluefog and quite a few people chimed in saying they had never seen them before.
I only found the giant windmills in Coerthas about a month ago.
A few weeks ago someone posted pictures of the red cliffs area which I have never been to.
There are also many areas of the Black Shroud that I haven't seen yet, such as the fairy houses.
Have you explored all areas of every region?
