    PLD Negotiation (Vs WAR)

    Dec 7th note: (Why is this thread still active. >.> I really don't want to be some type of poster child for some kind of PLD vs WAR war. This was mainly made to just be like "WAR may need some buffs, but that doesn't mean there still isn't some bullshit that PLDs have to deal with that they shouldn't")

    New Negotiation:

    I've read what you have to say, and took into consideration the angles. In result I've come with a counter Negotiation. (Keep in mind this is still me acting like I still have some sway).

    We'll allow all your changes to be met, but only in return for the following:
    Awareness: Allow critical heals to still be useable while using Awareness.
    Spirit Within: Shorten the cast time of this silence OR allow Spirit within to be cast in the middle of Rage of Halone like with any other ability.
    Shield Swipe: Increase the leeway time of use before going back on cooldown by 2 or 3 seconds.
    Hallowed Ground: Allow the cast effect to happen on button press instead of 1.5 seconds after pressing. Also disable to ability to use Hallowed Ground after death. (A lot of abilities have this 'glitch')
    Cover: Allow us to take Magic damage as well OR add an Aggro mitigation buff.






    Original Negotiation:

    I understand that the WARs may have not had as much "usage" as PLD, and the skill buffs are understandable. However, there have been some perks that concern the every day PLD. In a perfect world, I would attempt this Negotiation to you SE. (Let me just pretend like I have some type of influence and power. For the sake of an argument I'm going to act like I have the final say.)

    Marauder Changes

    Brutal Swing- Recast time will be reduced from 30 to 20 seconds, increasing the frequency with which players can stun foes.
    Response: Approved

    Overpower- Enmity generated by this skill has been increased.
    Response: Approved.
    In return: I want Spirt within to have a faster animation time. High Voltage is always a close call.

    Storm's Eye- TP cost will be reduced from 70 to 60.
    Response: Approved

    Storm's Path- TP cost will be reduced from 90 to 60.
    - This skill will also reduce damage dealt by enemies for a period of time.
    Response: Denied. Damage Mitigation was designed to be a PLD's place. Not a WAR. WARs are designed to have more hp and str than a PLD. Their "mitigation" is life steal.
    Alternative: Have a % of damage received instantly regained.

    Holmgang- Range will be increased from 3 yalms to 6, to make the skill more effective.
    - This skill will now pull enemies toward your character.
    - When using this skill, a player's HP cannot be reduced lower than 1.
    - The animation for this skill will be revised.
    Response: Approved
    Attentional Note: This move with my Storm's path would look really badass. It's perfect because it will actually give you some breathing room once your immortality timer is up.

    Vengeance- This skill will also reduce damage taken by 30%.
    Response: Approved.
    In return: Damage Mitigation is a PLD's thing. Also PLD have really crappy cross class skills. I can approve this on the condition that Vengeance become a PLD cross class skill.

    Mercy Stroke- Recast time will be reduced from 60 to 40 seconds, improving ease of use.
    Response: Approved
    Suggestion: Put a 'leeway' timer so that if an enemy dies within 2 seconds of casting Mercy stroke you still get the HP. Mercy stroke shows no mercy when facing DPSs.

    Thrill of Battle
    - Effect duration will be extended from 10 to 20 seconds.​
    Response: Approved.
    In return: I want Bulwark to last 20 and be on a 120 cool-down instead of 180 seconds. Keeping it on par with Thrill of Battle. (Considering this move is useless in some fights, I don't know why the cool down is so high in the first place).

    Warrior Changes

    Defiance
    - Enmity generated by this skill will be increased.
    - This skill will also increase HP recovery via curing magic by 20%.​
    Wrath
    - The improved healing effect granted by Wrath will be removed. Instead, the improved healing effect will be granted by Defiance.​
    Response: Approved
    In return: I want Shield Swipe to have a longer "leeway" timer for use. Just 1 or 2 more seconds longer in the leeway of use before going back on cool down.

    Inner Beast
    - Due to overall balance changes, HP absorbed by damage dealt will be reduced from 300% to 100%
    - Damage taken will be reduced by 20% for 6 seconds.​
    Response: Denied. Damage mitigation is a PLD's thing. Keep this move the way it is.
    Reasoning: It's on a 2.5 Global cooldown and lasts 6 seconds meaning it can be up almost always. Maybe a 4 second time frame where it won't be up. This move is Shield oath only without having to lose damage for it.

    Steel Cyclone
    - This skill will generate increased enmity.​
    Response: Approved
    In return: I want Rage of Halone to have a Potency of 300 instead of 260

    Unchained
    - Recast time will be reduced from 180 to 120 seconds, improving ease of use.​
    Response: Approved
    In return: I want Circle of Scorn to have increased enmity on Blind targets

    Stopped reading at Overpower, what the hell does Overpower's enmity generation have to do with the length of PLD's Sprits? :/

    Also, go back to letting the DPS carry you in turn 2 if you can't manage one skill when you're literally stood there doing nothing.

    The Paladin is currently overpowered and being used to circumvent game mechanics in ways the devs and Yoshi specifically have said were not intended. You shouldn't be asking for buffs, you should be thanking your lucky stars that they didn't nerf Paladin down to where it should be.

    The WAR changes are to bring WAR up to PLD's level. If, by consequence, for every buff WAR gets you also buff PLD the imbalance remains the same. To negotiate you need the facts, and you clearly don't have them.

    Am I missing something here? Inner Beast on a 2.5 GCD? cuz I though it was available only with 5 wrath stacks.. so at minimum, (not taking into consideration Infuriate), 7 moves to be able to use it a second time, HS (no stack)> IB> SS (stack 1)> BB (stack2)> HS (no stack)> SS (stack3)> BB (stack4)>HS (no stack)> SS (stack5)> IB.. So ~ 15 seconds before a second use of IB.. so there's an extra 5 seconds on top of the 4 that it wouldn't be up.. that being said.. I personally don't like the changes to inner beast, but nothin I can do about it 'cept adjust playing style a bit too accommodate incoming changes.

    o-o I don't think there's a single dung in the game that a tank can be "carried" through.

    Only one boss in the game can be "carried through" as a tank and that is Ifirit.

    But I like how you respond to a diverse opinion with an insult. 8D stay classy.
