As much as all of the threads about technical issues and inventory problems are important, they're not going to decide whether FFXIV lives or dies. SE will be looking to these forums from time to time to see what our concerns are. This thread is basically for us to decide what is most important in this game succeeding, whether that means keeping bored people from quitting, attracting new players and so on.
All of that being said, I'll start with my impressions. I've always loved Final Fantasy games and I've always bought and played each one many times. In FFXIV, I am now at the point where I just don't want to log in any more. The prospect of smacking slightly larger doblyns another 1,000,000 times just makes me feel very alone.
- For a while now, I've been saying that the release of "Hamlet Defense" could turn things around. I imagined it to be similar to Beseiged or Campaign with an NPC able to teleport us to the location when a conflict was soon to begin. Hopefully side-quest NPCs will offer us such teleports one day, instead of items we don't want.
- That's another thing- I feel as if side-quests could have been successful simply by giving us re-colored or re-skinned Unique versions of items like goggles or coatees. People don't even need gear with Stamina increases or anything yet, just new colors or designs at different ranks would make people happy.
- Another topic would be content. Of course, they must be working on chocobos, Ishgard and the colusseum in Ul'dah. The colosseum could be similar to the FF7 Gold Saucer colusseum where items or points are earned in exchange for medicide/prizes/SP/XP. I've also been hoping for PvE content where we could enter the infamous "Necrologos" and perhaps work towards the new Job-specific-equipment we've been teased with. Maybe then, our time spent in the Necrologos could affect the monsters we see in Battlecraft Levequests. That could help keep things from getting too stale.
