Why do DRG and MNK que for WP ?

Level 50 DRG main with a level 50 MNK alt (yes, I love melee DPS lulz).

9-10 minute WP speed runs with my 4 man static. Done about the same time with both my DRG and MNK (DRG is a bit faster because he's better geared). Oh and our group doesn't have a BLM so no AOE sleep exploit to speed up run, we're just killing everything so fast.

Oh but our group can switch out our PLD for a WAR. I noticed when we do that though, we have to split up our pulls into smaller groups because WAR can't take as much mobs, so that slows us down to 12-13 minute runs, about a 30ish% increase in time. Jesus Grailer, I have no idea why WARs like you even queue for WP and ruin it for everyone else!

I'm a newbie with little to contribute, but I'm leveling both BRD and DRG because I know BRDs are highly desired but I suspect DRGs, the class closest to my heart, will be much better positioned on the ladder after 2.1.

My FC can consistently get 12-13 min WP speed runs with a DRG or MNK in the party. It's not as bad as you make it sound. Yes, having a melee is going to be a bit slower than having a BRD, SMN, or BLM in that spot but it's not a substantial loss in time.

Its kinda funny how DRG have the 2nd highest AoE damage, only behind BLM...In a WP SP, if you have a BRD, its only for FR to boost the BLM; if they're just AoEing and not singing its better to have a DRG there (and heck, it may even be better to have the DRG anyway). Of course, for pure DPS you want 2 BLM...

Also, a good WAR can lead a <15min WP if there's a good healer behind them...maybe they can't pull EVERYTHING in the first section, but they can in the other two (as far as the doors stop you anyway). A BRD is a good idea with them, but only for Paeon...WAR really could use Invigorate...

Well technically, WHM Holy > everything, can't forget about WHM aoe.
