    Replacement for the dominant Fate EXP system.

    The Fate system was fun to begin with, but lately it has become a lonely boring repetitive process. I'm positive others would agree. It is horrible that the main EXP system is the Fate system. It makes everything else unimportant. Who cares about killing the wildlife, battle leves, guildhests, or dungeons, when you can easily lv to max level just farming Fates. Bots run around in underwear fighting in Fates battles. It's ridiculous. This system is broken and needs to be replaced.

    I'm a veteran of FFXI from when it first started before WOW. I miss the party system FFXI had. We use to chat with each other and laugh at comments or silly stuff. We use to talk about strategies and provide helpful advice to play a job better. There was more communication and bonding involved. The current party system in FFXIV is just a "Hi and bye."; "I got what I wanted; take care," or even worse, it's just silence. It doesn't feel like a mmorpg. At least in WOW, people fought against each other to cure themselves of quest boredom. You reacted to real people. FFXIV feels like a regular RPG with a bunch of NPCs running around. Now, I had just recently experienced guildhests and believe it to be a decent system; especially for those who needs to experienced party battle if they are a noob. It's a good introductory system, and can be expanded to a better idea to replace their current dominant Fate EXP system.

    What I propose:

    Set all Fate battles under the Guildhest quest system. Add additional Fate battles throughout the maps in order to provide enough battle grounds. Add underworld maps: caves, dungeons, and fortress areas such as those in FFXI. The more teleport crystals a player has access to, the more areas the player will have access for Guildhest queuing. Players only from the server will partake in these events and fight in the server world; not in a separate cell. Party will be warped to a random teleport crystal and be provided with a battleground location appropriate to the party's level. This location being either the current map the party was teleported to or a underworld location within the area. Set fate battles as repeatable random battles.

    Only one Fate battle will be available until its completion then another will randomly appear. Fate battles will be designated to the party only and may not be engaged by outside members. Set Fate battles to be difficult, but beatable by a light party. Experience will be gained per battle. If a member disbands, the Party may optionally stay intact and wait for a new member to que in. Once disbanded, player does not automatically warp to their original location; he has option to teleport, warp, or free to go as he/she wishes. Party deaths may optionally be warped to the nearest teleport crystal. Higher level members may participate and sync to the Fate quest lv limit with a slight exp penalty being suffered, possibly 10-20%.

    Basically it will be like this:

    Talk to a leve Guard. Apply for a Fate Guildhest Quest. Set the level range desired. Player will automatically be entered in the que system. Once party is assembled, party will be warped to a teleport crystal. Go to the battleground location, either being the current map or an underworld map. A Random fate will appear on map available for the party only. Go to it and beat it. Once victorious, a new random Fate battle will appear and continue in this manner until disbanding. Other parties in the map will have their own Fate battles that they will deal with.

    Reached daily Limit...

    In response to below: The current dungeon and guildhest is still a "Hi and Bye, never see you again" system. Increase in EXP is not a solution. It's a Band-Aid.

    You can edit your original post to get past the character limit.

    They're increasing the exp yielded from dungeon mobs, guildhests and guildleves in 2.1, as well as offering xp bonuses for participating in the dungeon roulette. I don't think much more needs to done to create incentive to do things other than FATEs.

    Increasing exp in dungeons and guildhests will not work. The server world will only become a ghost town with people constantly doing dungeons. If it doesn't provide enough exp, the current mindless fate system will still be dominant. There was some aspects of FFXI that is above FFXIV, and that was teamwork and community, classic FFXI that is. The new system of what it has become is garbage. My method can bring teamwork and community into FFXIV. Though gil sellers will still be able to form parties or quest to lv their character, at least their bots won't be running around in underwear leeching off other's accomplishments. I believe this will provide a fun solution to leveling.

    To help with parties waiting too long in que:

    This idea comes from the FFXI NPC follower. It was designed to help solo players or to fill in gaps in parties. I'm thinking that members who wait too long in que should be offered to be helped by a NPC Soldier to fill in gaps. NPC will only fight and use abilities once an enemy is attacked. Normally there are a lot of DPS, but sometimes not enough tanks and healers. I'm thinking that one NPC per light party should be suffice. I don't believe this system will work in dungeons and should not be offered to do so, but it can be helpful in Fate EXP battles.

    2 things:

    1) you don't need to make a bunch of posts (you can only make a limited number per day so you should really avoid it)- If you want to make a long post, start your post, CTRL-X cut the text that doesn't fit, submit your post, then edit your post and paste it all back in. You can add more text when you edit a post.

    2) They are not going to "replace" FATE, but they are going to make other methods of XP e.g. dungeons and levequests, more viable alternatives in patch 2.1, so that you can choose to XP the way you want.

    You say this "will not work" but your reason makes no sense. Some people don't like dungeon running and won't do it. Other people don't like levequests and won't do them. Everyone has their preference. Dungeon EXP doesn't need to be "the best," it just needs to be more in line with what other things give.

    It sounds like you want to bring back mob grinding parties but this method isn't any better or more fun. This topic has been beaten to death, classic XI mode is not going to happen.

    Wouldn't let me put all text all in one post. I'll post it in general.
    1) The current fate system will work for the time being. But fate grinding gets very old. It's too easy and boring.
    2) People generally go where the best exp is at. Fate being the current.
    3) If current dungeons and guildhest provide the best exp. The world will be a ghost town from people constantly doing them.

    Classic ffxi party sometimes got boring too, but mix it with difficult fate battles and not boring wildlife, then it will be more fun.
