I'm not saying i have a hard time getting immersed in the game. I don't want or care about getting immersed in the game. I'm not trying to feel like my character or pretend to be him.

What I'm saying is that I'm sick of all the whiners crying that everything is breaking their immersion as if they NEEEEED to be immersed in a virtual world to escape their sucky life.

Get over it people. This is a video game and we should stick to video game basics which is making it FUN.

If you want immersion that bad, buy yourself a 48 monitor eyefinity setup to cover all the walls of your room, a 7.1 sourround sound system and enough bag of chips to last for months... oh and dont forget the dippers!

its the same about movies... no matter if you call it immersion or not... if a movie is as bland as ffxiv currently is it also isnt immersive, that has nothing to do with real life or not. If im watching a movie and its very obvious that almost everything is made of paper and the settings look artificial and are not well done or better -the actors don't have voices lol- then there is no/or less immersion. Pretty childish post and obviously immersion is a word that needs more clarification...
And "fun" as you stated is one part of the immersion as well.

I love listening to awful synthesized combat music while fighting a rat next to a rock formation that repeats 20 more times within a 200 foot radius. Can't HELP but get immersed when I visit the golden bazaar where NPCs repeat a single line of dialogue and won't even sell me anything. MMM MMM. SHIT IS BELIEVABLE I WISH I LIVED IN EORZEA.

Also, apparently trying to create a game with a well designed world and characters you can grow attached to automatically removes the fun in the game AND ruins the gaming industry. Do you guys read over the shit you write sometimes?
