Vote Kick if watching cut scene? Dev Pls Respond

Some of the cutscenes require action from the user to progress. As such a player could AFK during a cutscene and stay in the cutscene. If they disabled it for the cutscenes we'd end up with the same problem, afker's during a cutscene and can't do anything about it.

These days people are only running through CM and Prae once, for the story, and never again since there's no point when you can just run WP for tomes/myths, so I wouldn't be too worried about people vote kicking people for watching cut-scenes when it's going to be mostly people who haven't done it before or people helping their friends who haven't done it (and said friends are likely to want to watch the cut-scenes).

Uh...you should try running CM sometime. Or Praetorium. I regularly try to help new 50's get in, and there's always half a group covered in Darklight/Allagan, wielding Relic +1's that either try to pressure the newbies into skipping all the cutscenes, or simply leave them behind, locking them out of every boss fight.

Smart people run WP for the same tomestones in a shorter period of time, yes. But not everyone who plays XIV is smart.

If a person is doing their best, trying to cooperate with the group, but it just not skilled enough or experienced enough in the eyes of the other players, that player still has a right to play. If someone wants to watch the cut scenes and is not delaying excessively, they have that right.

All discussions of personal morality aside, that is to say, speaking from a purely technical point of view - do the players that would otherwise be forced to party with the unskilled player not have the same right to play as they so choose?

Is it going to be possible for people to initiate a vote kick for people who are watching the cut scenes? If this is going to be possible then let me know so I can just quit right now.

I will not support a game that will throw someone under the bus like this because of impatience from other people.

I've seen this also, was in a party where 5 or 6 ppl were watching cutscenes since they were on it for story mode. One guy took an extra 2-3 minutes on every cutscene, not sure what he was doing, but it was clear he was taking longer than the other people who were watching the same cutscenes in full, lol.

I would say no, because speed runs are the exception, not the norm. If you have to find even one person through df, that person's right to play at his/her own level needs to be respected. If you can't find a full sr party through FC or shout, something is wrong.

Maybe his ability to read was not very good? Maybe he is from a country, for that there is no translation in the game and he has to translate it for himself?

Surely your systems know when players are in cut-scenes given how it says so in the Party List - cant you simply disable the kick function on players in cut-scene?

I mean Im still on my first run through here and havent even got near the "end" of the current V2 storyline and thats before its expanded with 2.1 so obviously I'm gonna be watchin Dungeon cutscenes when they come up, seems unfair I could get booted for wanting to enjoy the main selling point of the FF games - the story!

That wont work. Because if you have an AFK-Leecher in your group, he will be in a cutscene the whole run. And you definitely wanna kick those.

And to your concern: I surely will not vote to kick a player, that is in a dungeon the first time and watches the story. If I wanna farm, i join a speedrun group. If I go DF, I am fine with a slower run. I guess there are enough people who think like that and wont kick either.

I have a hard time believing this. I'm not saying you're lying, but I'm certain you're greatly exaggerating.
